The Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu offers a pleasant stay with helpful and hospitable staff. The breakfast spread is enjoyable and the location is convenient for shopping and dining. However, there we (Read More)re some issues with room assignment and noise from adjoining rooms. Check-out was also delayed due to staff engagement with other guests. Overall, the hotel staff, apart from the concierge desk, provided excellent service. The rooms are satisfactory with city views, but the carpet appeared dirty. The hotel is conveniently located near markets, shopping complexes, and the jetty for island access.

Good service in general but some points are to be improved.

I booked the room with access to Club Lounge service, where breakfast and cocktail dinner were served. This was nice to have chances to have meals with a relatively quiet atmosphere. Fruits were also served in the room on the first day of stay.

Room cleaning time was late (around 16:15), and I waited for about 20 minutes for completion of cleaning after coming back to the room. Another point to be rectified is music in the corridor; it sounded even after 22:00 and it would hamper smooth sleep for an early riser on the next day.

Location is good but service is bad

Location and price are the only nice thing about this hotel. Centre of the city. Room is spacious. Booked the hotel last min as they still have rooms available during busy time. The good ones were sold out so have no choice have to stay here.

Service was bad for a 4 star hotel. They have lots of desktop but only 1 person working so longer check in time knowing its busy time. The reception (name Andy) sounded sleepy and was rude when answering the phone. Housekeeping didnt understand simple instruction. Breakfast at lounge was sad.

Location

Too slow, the check in service way too slow. 7 PCs / counters with only 2 staff working. The room is not ready upon check in time. Heard other guests complaining the same thing. Room is too dark & most of switch plugs are broken.

1. Some stains in the bathroom. 2. Full parking space at the basement area due to wedding at night. Staff mentioned to wait until the wedding finish, then can park. They should allocate parking space only for in house guest. 3. Check in timing quite slow, should improved.
