Excellent resort, loads to do - V nice comftbl hotel -V attentive staff - balc rm view to die for.

Hotel staff very helpful at arranging collection from railway stn. on arrival / departure. Food was very nice and a reasonable choice of options at evening meal, and always given an option of more if required. Food was always nicely cooked and well presented. Breakfast buffet was always plentiful with wide selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Staff were always friendly and attentive at reception, meal times and visits to bar. We had a front facing room with a balcony so we had a spectacular view of the mountains on the other side and down the valley and towards the Eiger / Jungfrau Massif. Room was comfortable and cleaners always did an excellent job. Bit out of the centre but that suits us as we do not mind a walk and would prefer a quieter area. There were regular reliable buses passing immediately outside hotel and I also believe that reception staff would have arranged a courtesy ride towards the railway station and town centre if required although we did not need this facility.

Did feel that some of the meals were prepared / presented on basis of cost ( disappointing as not an inexpensive hotel). Hotel room was nice, comfortable, and appeared to have been refurbished to an unusual style of eclectic decor but that is of course down to individual taste. Number of sockets for mobile phones, camera charging etc inadequate, in this day and age. As stated Hotel slightly out of town centre and away from main lifts, but not a major problem if you do not mind, or are able, to walk. From main lifts / gondola's its quite a slog 'up hill' to the centre railway station but there is a bus, train ride option up the hill. Whilst at the hotel i picked up on some fire safety issues which i have subsequently passed on to the owners and fire service in Switzerland. This is not uncommon as fire safety standards in Switzerland, especially in older traditional buildings, are not as strict / advanced as in the UK so make sure you check any hotel arrangements on your arrival.

Loved it and highly recommend!

Check in was easy, room was great with balcony facing the mountains, all the staff was amazing from the front desk to those in the restaurant and the nice man who took us to the train station! Food was great for dinner!

The dispensers for the soap were difficult to squeeze in order for soap to come out.

Clean bedding, great view of the lake.

Caution for those who are sensitive to insects. There were quite a few winged insect stuck to the ceiling at night, which made me consider changing rooms. I ended up catching them with tissue paper.

Warm and homey feeling

Very nice hotel. Rooms recently renovated. The hotel is been run by the same family for over 120 years and in fact these days the fifth generation is taking the reins. Everyone were very nice and with a desire to make your stay pleasant. I would like to give special mention to Marta and Carlos, who were exceptional in the level of service and kindness that we received from them.

Try to stay in Interlaken and get here by train in 20min

Good location, right by the First mountain cables cart. The front desk attendant in the afternoon is really nice and helpful. She is the only staff I felt really cared about us. (She is super pretty too, and many thanks to her!)

Hot water doesnt come out from the shower head in our room, and they cant fix it. Best solution they offered was to let us show in the public bathroom in the pool. No compensation offered. We got booked into the side room where I think is an extended cabin off the main building, the room is dark and had no balcony, quite different than other rooms. The first night was extremely noisy due the wooden structure of the building, we can hear the people talking slamming doors showing and footsteps until 1am (we have to get up at 7 to climb the mountain). Next day morning I asked the front desk, the attendant told me : we cannot tell our guests not to shower. Until I saw the manager and he said he will call and help. Luckily the second night was quiet and we would be able to catch some sleep. But over all for 400CHF per night, this is more like a motel.

Very enjoyable with great service

Really need a front room to get the best out of the hotel with a view of the Eiger. But the food was very good considering its part of the package, with 1st class service from everyone in the restaurant who couldnt do enough for you
