This is the best hotel in Grindelwald for your memorable holidays.

This hotel is in the most stunning location of Grindelwald, and it is surrounded by snow mountains. In my whole life, I have never seen such a beautiful location. I 100% recommend this hotel for your vacations.

Stunning scenery, our rooms face the snowy mountains and leave unforgettable memories. With the help of the hotel email, we drove up the mountain very smoothly, and it was good to pay a little attention to the tourists riding scooters on the road, in fact, the uphill route is the same as the route of the scooters.

Good choice with splendid view

Splendid view. Super nice croissant. Easy to get by cabine but the last one stop at 17h and if you don't want to walk 55min to get back, hurry up :) However, it's a super nice hiking to do at least once !

Lovely nature retreat.

The location was impeccable because youre living in the mountains. Perfect for a retreat away from city life, with nature right with you. There is a restaurant so food is not a worry. There are plenty of activities to do like mountain carting, going up to the mountain by cable car to paraglide, scooter down the mountain.

While we anticipated driving up, the road to drive up was quite tough because there are many tourists on the scooters which you have to look out for. Its about a 10 min drive up the narrow road. It got better as we drove more so all was good for us. Alternatively cable car is an option but its going at a high price. There are many flies in the restaurant but sitting outdoors isnt an issue.

Excellent value, views, and comfort. Would come and stay again in a heartbeat.

Location of Alpinhotel Bort was unrivalled. It's located halfway up to First Grindelwald, but still accessible by car so you're not beholden to the chair lifts. After 6pm you have the mountain to yourself. The restaurant was great value and had an excellent selection of the dishes you would expect from a Swiss mountain hut at a reasonable price. The staff were very attentive and addressed any queries and concerns we had. My parents prefer to have hot water to make tea at the ready and the staff (Birgit) was kind enough to bring a kettle for us to use. The views from the room were unbeatable, I'm looking forward to staying here again in the winter for a ski in/out experience. Honestly, looking everywhere else in Grindelwald, I think Alpinhotel Bort was an excellent mix of value, views, uniqueness, and comfort. I would strongly recommend it.

The drive up is a bit harrowing if it's your first time dealing with mountain roads, but if you have a reasonable car (not a Fiat 400) and take your time it's manageable.
