Occidental Jandía Royal Level - Adults Only

This is not a truly adult only hotel. It is part of a much larger family-friendly resort, and it wasnt possible to walk from our room to the pool or restaurants etc without walking through the main areas. Evenings in the adult only cocktail bar were ruined by the kids entertainment noise from the level below - yes, including the Hokey Cokey and Baby Shark at 9pm! It was louder than I would have wanted any music playing, then add hundreds of happily screaming kids! This was not what we expected when booking an adult only hotel. I complained at the hotel, and was told management would get in touch. They didnt. I went back a few days later and was sent to speak to someone in the main hotel reception (full of kids). She refused to accept that our stay was not adult only and offered no sympathy or solutions. We had been offered to change rooms, but this would not have solved the issues - the two adult only restaurants are different sides of the hotel, so whichever area your room is, youd have to cross the main area, and the main noise issues were when in the pool/restaurant/bar areas. I tried to complain after returning, but have been pretty much ignored by the hotel management. I escalated via booking.com, who were very helpful and contacted the hotel direct. I did get a call from the hotel, but still declining to accept my complaint. Other things which could have been better included the food (it was ok, but nothing special), the wifi (which was non-existent) and the maintenance of the facilities (a few bits not working/looking tired such as hand dryers and sun beds). It was so disappointing to have wasted our money for our one week of the year when we had hoped to really relax, switch off and unwind. If youre looking for a decent adult only holiday, I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.
