We loved Jacques' reception, and the entire sensorial experience with the ambient perfume, the music, the comfort of the bed both in the external and internal areas. Amazing!

Disappointing for what we paid

The room interior was lovely

There was no lodge or common area and we stayed in our room for the duration of our stay. There is only the lavender bistro which is a small deck where meals were served. No bar/ pool etc. We didnt use the indoor cinema as this isnt an activity we wanted to do in the bush. The starlit arena, although heavily marketed, was not available to us for meals/ dinners. Picnics were not offered to us either due to the high temps in the day. Solar restricts aircon temp to 24 degrees and on 38 degree days our room was 34 degrees which was uncomfortable. There arent any activities as advertised on the site. Restricted to walking with a guide and we had 1 game drives in the 2 days at another farm. Its not the experience advertised on the website.

I didnt like that our needs were not attended, our tv was not working and we reported it but nothing was done, the 5 stars that we were supposed to be getting we didnt receive it and it was so disappointing, to get the things thats they promised we had-to fight for it until until the owner come, the 2 game drive that was promised , cinema, cooking classes that were promised was not done, only 1 game drive was done after we have complained about it, not even the manager did assist us, all he said was I will call the owner, it was one of the bad vacation I ever had an I would never recommend it to anyone

The staff was very friendly. Njabulo and Roman went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The location is perfect. Privacy is fantastic. The picnic by the river is to die for. The fishing was lovely, even if the fish refused to be caught :-).

After-hours check needs a bit more attention. It took us longer than necessary to access the property, despite having notified the property of our exact arrival time and arriving at that time. Our names were not properly communicated to security, which required verification while we waited. After 6 hours of driving, it can be a bit annoying. The owner could be a bit friendlier to guests when he comes across them. A simple greeting will suffice, especially when you are keeping people waiting due to a technical fault which could have been avoided if proactive measures had been taken. Nobody expects the owner to go out of his way to be friendly. However, he should model the behaviour expected of his staff members. The bicycles are due for professional service. Their condition detracts from what should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. None of this takes away from the fact that we had a wonderful time. Minor adjustments will go a long way to making the resort a first among equals.

Even 2 star lodges provide better hospitality in SA than this 5 star property.

Cinema hall

Taste less food. Lunch was mentioned in our booking details but was not provided. The pool was not cleaned once since check-in. No animals in the reserve so better book other authentic private reserves. No where near to five star. Their service standard is less than one star. The staff need to learn hospitality. It is not all inclusive in no sense. Please amend it and don't fool people.

AMAZING, our stay was PERFECT

Everything was perfect. We got a personalized stay. Janus, help us to book 2 big 5 safaris and we were lucky to see all the animals. As well, we got a driver, Given, very good guy who always keep the car clean and a smile on his face. The food was amazing, we got one Ostrich carpaccio, amazing taste. The room was more than perfect. I can not express what a memorable experience we got. PERFECT!

Missed Expectations

The room was thoroughly cleaned, and the restaurant's wait staff provided attentive service. The roast dinner was delicious, and the walking guide proved to be both knowledgeable and helpful..

Prior to arriving at the accommodation, customary information about food expectations and important details is usually provided. Anticipating our significant anniversary celebration, I made sure to emphasize this special occasion in our notes. My hope was that the property would exceed our expectations and create a memorable experience. However, this note went entirely unnoticed, resulting in our anniversary feeling like just another day in the bush. This, combined with the issue of frequently receiving cold food during our stay while the Butler was meant to be 'taking care' of us, made us question his understanding of his role. Our simple requests for condiments often went unanswered or arrived after the meal had ended. Additionally, unlike our previous bush stays where we encountered a variety of wildlife, we were surprised by the lack of animals on the property this time. The property's price point and expectations seemed better suited for unsuspecting tourists rather than seasoned bush travelers. The property is also the middle man for safaris, unlike our previous experiences, so it is recommended that guest research prices of safaris to avoid being over charged.
