I recommend this hotel

Excellent location, very pleasant and clean. Electric kettle is in the room with the selection of tea and coffee.

Renovation works in the lobby during New Year period.

The location and the friendliness of the staff means the Balmoral is a place I would recommend for a stay in Barcelona Central for the sites, handy for the metro in a lovely area

Great hotel - professional staff, tasty authentic breakfast.

Everything was amazing. Staff, breakfast, room, location. I had a great stay.

Only thing I would comment is the elevator was small.

Location was great: in the heart of the city center, but, meanwhile, aside from the tourist crown; a few minutes away from metro station. Room was great, with everything we needed. The mattresses were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious.

Comfortable, clean rooms in excellent location.

The only negative which has been raised in trip advisor was the price of the taxi firm you use. We asked for a taxi to take us to the airport. He charged 49 euros, far more than what we were advised to expect. We could have just walked and found one ourselves as there were plenty available. Would also say the driver exceeded the speed limit and it was an uncomfortable experience.

I dont recommend, bad hotel.

The only good thing about this hotel was the location.

Staff: the staff was so superficial, even though we were waiting in line for the check in, the second staff was not even looking at us; Even though they were 2 at the reception desk, only one was actually working and it was so slow. Room: The bed was moving when you changed sides.. it was horrible. No slippers provided, I ve called the receptionist to have some slippers and he said they are 2 per pair. This is something that I never heard from a hotel of 4+ stars as they say they are. Having slippers after a bath is the minimum that they can provide, without a cost. Paying more than 350 per 3 nights it s sufficient I guess. Cleanliness: not clean, it was dust everywhere, see picture attached; The bathroom was horrible, they had this bidet and the wc place to close to each other, you can even stay in the toilet. The windows are really bad, no soundproofing, the cold air was coming through as the windows closed badly. The shower head was broken and it splashed water everywhere.

Disappointing

Good breakfast. Location was good.

The front desk attendant was not helpful. I had a health problem that required clean up attention. She refused early arrival and only relented to give a room fifteen minutes early if we paid for an upgraded room saying the other rooms were not ready.
