One of the best places to stay in Tonsai

Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, huge room and free drinking water.

Quite loud nearby generators at night, but I could barely hear them if I used ear plugs.

A wonderful stay in beautiful Tonsai beach

Hotel is deep in the nature. They have electricity 24 hours. Rooms are spacious. Looks worse in photos. The view from the balcony is amazing.

Lacks basic things like a kettle, paint on the walls, a lock on balcony door. Has good potential, but needs quite some investments. Having that in mind it's a really good place to stay for a budget travel, would choose it over any bungalow. Mosquito net is just for decoration.

Sub par accommodation with falsely advertised room.

The facilities are good.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR FUTURE TRAVELLERS: the hotel falsely advertises sea view for all rooms whereas actually a few rooms have indeed sea view. They use the same pic with a sea view for all rooms whereas most rooms have garden or Mountain Views (for the same price). When I confronted them with this issue, they just offered that I cancel the booking (during the festive season) unfortunately we were unable to find an alternative accommodation with such short notice before Christmas! The owner advertises and charges the same price for all the rooms. There was no compensation.

Its written a lot in the reviews about very welcoming owners, this is the best part of the stay in this hotel. We were met at the beach, as we were with a big luggage, and drove with a scooter to the hotel. The same way they saw us off to the boat. The view is absolutely incredible, as the hotel is on top of the hill. The path through the jungles to the Railay Beach is right beside the staircase to the houses.

Indeed a bit exhausting sometimes to go up by the stairs. But for the great view its totally worth it.

Nature and adventure

It was a very good stay. We booked without knowing that we would need to take a boat ride to get there but it works okay when we finally get there. Since it is low season, ours are the only occupied room. We enjoy the quiet and private getaway. When we want a slightly busier ambiance, we can easily walk over to Railay beach when the tide is low. Please note that there's quite a bit of walking and stairs climbing at this resort so for people with mobility issue would find it a bit difficult here. Other than that everything else is very good. The view is amazing from the room. You feel very close to nature. The hosts (husband and wife) are very friendly and nice and easy to talk to. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Very good value for money too!

Our room doesn't have any curtains. We feel a bit odd but since it's only the nature (trees outside and we are on the highest spot) we don't mind it too much. The room needs a bit of upgrading. The resort could feel a bit raw if you are looking for luxury.

The most magnificent place to stay on Tonsai. Would return in a heart beat.

The owners are probably the nicest people you will ever meet. So kind and considerate and went absolutely above and beyond for us during our stay. We could not have asked for better hosts. The room is massive! With beautiful views out into the jungle that just never get old. It's calm it's peaceful it's just perfect. We loved having a bath! And it's not an option you get everywhere. We thought for what you get and the service it is incredibly affordable! Room was also cleaned daily which is a bonus when you have a longer stay. There is also power all day (which there didn't used to be when we stayed somewhere else last time). We would return here in a heartbeat and wish our stay hadn't come to an end. It was just magical.

Big and comfortable room

Loved our stay here. We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was very spacious. It wasnt too warm in the room with it being amongst the trees. It was nice to have a balcony to dry some wet clothes on. They provided complimentary water bottles each day and the option to fill your own water bottle in the lobby. The staff were very friendly and were able to answer all the questions we had. Because Tonsai is not connected to the government electrical grid, this area is powered by generators. So there is not power here between 10 am and 5 pm. Not really an issue if you plan things accordingly. The water pressure is also low in the mornings.

Very good

Had a nice bungalow room in a quiet spot up the hill. It was nice to look out over the jungle and listen to the monkeys. The family that runs the place is very lovely! Tonsai Was hard hit by Covid closures and is rather quiet these days, but its a nice contrast to the extra busy Railay beach area.
