Comfy overnight stay

The hosts were very accomodating, let us check in early, and met us to hand over the entry fob and show us where to park the car. Car parking in the building was super convenient. There was a tram/light rail stop on the road very close by, but we had a car so did not need this. The beds were very comfortable. The lounge pulled out to a sofa and there was spare linen in the cupboard.

Nothing really. Unfortunately I could not find a bin in the apartment. We only stayed one night so this wasn't a real problem but for a longer issue this may be an issue.

The micromanagement of owners - setting check in and check out times but then asking what time exactly I will be there and when I will be gone, the state of cleanliness of the apartment, children to bath but no plug, stains on towels and hand towels

Great for a quiet break in Gold Coast

In general, the apartment was pretty ok with the swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, library room, billiards pool, etc. The main attraction in the property. The location was good with proximity to some good restaurants around the place.

The apartment itself didn't have near enough adequate heating considering this was a winter break. This was the only downside to an otherwise enjoyable outing.

Location was great. Very convenient with Woolies across the road.

Previous tenants had left prawn sheels in the insinkerator and these had not been removed. The whole apartment smelt like fish until we discovered the source of the smell. Suggest this be included in the cleaning process between guests in future.

Very disappointed with the unit and the host but we liked Southport.

The location.

We didn't like, that the host was a very poor communicator, wouldn't answer her phone before or after we arrived. All communication was by text message. The name on the phone was different to the hosts name. We had to ring after we arrived to get the actual address and the unit number. Was not told there was a very long, steep staircase within the unit, very difficult for people with luggage etc. The unit was filthy and hadn't been cleaned properly for a long time. Hair in kitchen cupboards, a large blob of butter on the jug handle, lolly wrappers in draws, dog hair on outside furniture, red wine spilt on kitchen floor, large mirror in lounge room was filthy, coffee or wine splashed on wall and no washing up sponge, washing liquid or tea towels (the host told us to use the dishwasher). When we texted the host for these things to be rectified, she said they would send a cleaner the next day but did not give us a time for the cleaner to come and expected us to wait there for a cleaner. I have some photos if required. We would not stay in this apartment again.
