Blenheim Guest House

It was the worst place I've ever stayed. The owners wife was completely clueless despite claiming to run an air b&b in Skegness. When I arrived in york the owner said he was in hospital his wife would let me in. I arrived and had to ring to be let in. I get it that it must've been stressful but I was there on holiday. The room was unsuitable but I decided to keep it as the other options given were even less suitable. A dirty hairpin was found in the sink....no hairdryer in the room....no ironing facility given.....I couldn't operate the shower because of mobility issues. I was told I could book further days if needed yet was told as I was leaving for a day out I couldn't have any room cos it was booked out for family. I spent the day trying to find somewhere else to move to Checkout day....7am I found out my local train station was closed due to stormy weather. I knew I needed to find a place to stay I asked for help all I got was you can stay till you find somewhere but check out is a 3pm.....I asked if she knew of any local places I was told she doesn't know the area. I finally found somewhere and she started braying on my door are you ready to leave at 11am. I was packing She carried my bags down stairs and dumped it at the bottom. She didn't offer to even get the door on my way out!!!! I then got a text saying I'd left my kindle. 3 days ago I said can you post it to me. I've just recieved a text saying she hasn't posted due to not knowing where to post it to. I've asked for it to be returned by registered post Avoid at all costs if you are disabled......I'd avoid completely it looks nice but that's all I'm claiming a refund through booking because I didn't have a holiday all I had was stress the very thing I tried to avoid

1) Not sure if it was our error but we booked an ensuited room, however the bathroom was down the hallway from the bedroom, whilst it was dedicated to Room 4 which we were allocated, you couldn't leave belongings in the bathroom as it was not able to be locked. The bathroom was very tiny, you could barely close the door and still stand in the room. We only stayed one night of the 3 nights we booked. Booking ref below. A refund for the 2 nights we didn't stay would be nice. 2) Parking was over a bridge and down the road, not convenient for overseas travellers with luggage. May be ok if you just had overnight bag. Not quite what we envisaged for off site paid parking. 3) We had to text the owner to enquire about heating and were given instructions to go downstairs and turn it on. Not the end of the world but certainly different to other BnB's we stayed at.
