UNFRIENDLIEST HOTEL EVER

Room was clean .

Shower was difficult to control as its two taps and trying to get the mix correct was tricky. You either got roasted or frozen. The staff were the UNFRIENDLIEST people we have ever met . We have stayed in many hundreds of hotels throughout the world and have never met such rudeness. Trying to get information regarding Christmas dinner was difficult so we just booked for their Christmas Eve special. We spent 212 on dinner for two . It was raw meat and fish which we cooked ourself using a fondue pot of boiling stock. The most expensive two and half course meal we have ever had and it was nothing special. We were in what looked like a small basement part of the hotel . Nothing , and I mean nothing special and DEFINITELY NOT worth the money. On checkout I went to pay the local tax of around 23 when I was presented with a bill for over 840 . I told the girl on reception that we had paid prior to arriving and she just sulked and shook her head. I told her I had it on my bank statement. She indicated that I need to move away from the deal and look for my bank statement. I was in a dreadful state. I eventually found it and went back to the desk which by now had loads of people checking out and our taxi was waiting for us. She then said you paid Booking.com you were supposed to pay us! It was so stressful and she was so unhelpful and really actually just rude. She could see the state I was in and she basically looked through me, with no emotion or help. Salzburg is a beautiful city and we spent most days out and about, only going back To the hotel for sleeping and changing. I would NEVER recommend anyone stay here unless they are desperate.

The breakfast was very good, the room was comfortable a bit small for a family. Location good only a 20 minute walk to the Old Town. Easy to find the hotel.

Our room did not have a bath which I requested. Was not informed that the Family room's do not come with a bath they only have showers.

Not terrible not great

Location was 12 minutes on foot from center and there was a bus stop nearby. The price of the room comparing to the competition was good. They cleaned the room and changed towels every day.

Instead of a double bed we got 2 single beds with wheels that were moving apart. The sink was clogged. It had 1 chair instead of 2. The price of the breakfast was 22 euros per person per night which is very expensive.

Room was clean and bed was conformable.

I booked for 5 people. When we arrived we had been allocated 2 rooms both with a double bed. I spoke to the receptionist who was rude, unhelpful and refused to accept I had booked for 5 people. His only offer was to book a third room at an additional 150 Euros for the night. We had had a flight from Innsbruck cancelled that morning, taken a train to Salzburg in which we had to stand all the way, I was travelling with my young family who were tired and upset. His attitude was awful and helped only to increase stress levels. Not somewhere I will ever return to our recommend.
