Hope to visit some day again. Just excellent, excellent, excellent!

My family really liked and loved everything. The manager and the staff was just so warm and always helpful and availiable. The food was sublime. The hotel was very very nice with nice nature. We just enjoyed really everything.

Superb

Slice of lush paradise perfect for nature lovers

Rasika the hotel manager and the team at the Amara villa made our ten day stay so wonderful - nothing was too much trouble. It was also a lovely quiet location, approx 5 mins walk from the nearest beach. Lush, tropical grounds with a huge variety of Flora and fauna so if you like nature you are in for a treat! We saw monekys, peacocks, a huge monitor lizard, many species of birds - all from the comfort of our pool loungers! The hotel itself was spacious and clean and many of the the original colonial features remained. Because there are only 6 rooms it would be an ideal place to hire with a group of friends or larger family group. We would definitely go back!

Everything was great! Only slight negative - and this was totally our fault, not them - was although the location was fab if you like it quiet - there were a couple of days where it was difficult to find a restaurant or shop open. It was Sinhala and Tamil New Year so a lot of places were shut for a couple of days. And for the same reason the hotel was short staffed so we couldn't have dinner there either. but if you check the SL calendar beforehand you should be OK! (we obviously hadn't!)

Such a beautiful villa and excellent location - only a few minutes walk to the beach. Rasika and her team were super hospitable and could not do more for us. The food was also delicious!

We felt like royalty there. Gorgeous well-maintained villa tucked in the greenery with a lot of monkeys around. Kind staff and good breakfasts. The room was huge and spacious.
