Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked at the airport and by your safari guide on arrival at 6:45 am in the morning.  The safari guide will give you a quick briefing on what to expect during the safari. You will later drive to Masai Mara. This drive will take about 5 to 6.5 hours with a scenic stopover at Great Rift Valley. Arrive in Masai Mara shortly after noon and check into Enkorok Mara/camp, have hot lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive.

After the game drive, we head back to lodge/camp to reach by around 6:00 PM, freshen up and enjoy a freshly prepared Dinner. Overnight at  Enkorok Mara Camp


Today's itinerary is flexible and you can discuss with your guide on the previous evening and plan for today's schedule.

After Breakfast leave with packed lunch and return back to camp later afternoon around 4:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive (This is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness hunt/kill). Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. you will stop at a picnic spot for having packed lunch and later depart on a game drive till the park is closed. Around 6:00 PM return to Enkorok Mara Camp for dinner and overnight stay.  

We have a very flexible itinerary and game drives are tailored to your interests with our experienced professional safari guide. Early morning game drive with picnic breakfast gets you higher probabilities of catching the sunrise, animals whilst they are still active. The morning serenity is just unexplainable, you just have to experience. Explore more of the spotted savannah with its diverse landscapes as to capture beautiful animals, with your lenses. The Mara River where river crossings happen in July August September is the main water body snaking its way through this paradise. Hippopotamus and the Nile crocodile call this home and it’s the best place I the reserve to catch a glimpse of them as they warm themselves in the river banks. Other rivers include the talek river and smaller tributaries like sekenani river. The sand river is another picturesque area at the Masai mara and it is right at the border with the endless plains, the Serengeti. All these as our safari guide explains more about nature as it unfolds right in front of you, getting you the best angles for that shot! After a fulfilling adventurous day, you retire back to your strategically located Enkorok Mara Camp for sumptuous dinner and overnight.  

After breakfast we drive back to Nairobi and arrive by early evening. You will either be dropped at your hotel or at the airport.

All bookings made with the company are subject to these terms.
1. Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policy
You will have to pay a deposit of at least 40% of the booking value for the booking to be confirmed. Please note
that the deposit amount varies based on the tour type and shall be notified to you before making the booking.
Once the booking is accepted by us, we shall send you a booking confirmation email with the voucher, which
shall serve as a contract between us from the date we send the confirmation. All details about the balance
payment which is due before the departure date will be mentioned in the booking voucher. If this balance is
not paid on or before the due date we reserve the right to cancel the booking.
In case of cancellations, the following charges will apply on the amount paid
· 45% if cancelled between 60 and 45 days prior to arrival
· 60% if cancelled between 44 and 30 days prior to arrival
· 100% if cancelled 30 days and 24 hrs prior to arrival
2. If you Change Your Booking
After your booking has been confirmed, should you wish to make any changes to your itinerary or wish an
earlier departure date, we will make every effort to accommodate your requests based on availability. However,
there may be extra costs involved to accommodate your request. These costs are in addition to the fee quoted
to your for your initial safari. Normal cancellation fees apply if you wish to postpone your departure

Just went for 8 day safari with James and Wild Portraits Safaris...it was spot on perfect. Reasons 1.Clear communication and replies always comes very quickly on WhatsApp. 2. Very genuine with suggestions and doesn't do things as a job or formality. 3. James is very knowledgeable. 4. The enthusiasm and passion shown by James was just so infectious. 5. Trip to Kenya

Everything went smooth and was detailed. Communication was flawless. The experience was seamless and well organised. Our guide Ben was fantastic and knowledgable so we feel we made a friend in Kenya too. James was superb in helping us plan the trip and with suggestions for stay. please be careful while entering the country at immigration - make sure your passport is stamped. We had some issue with this. Can’t complain about anything else. It was beyond our expectations.
