Most Beautiful Temples in Srirangapatna

Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, a beautifully carved temple complex, is located in Srirangapatna in the south-western state of Karnataka, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ranganatha who is considered as an avatar of Lord Vishnu in Hindu religion. The temple complex brightens up as the sun rises and the vibe is so divine one cannot explain but only experience here.

Located on the banks of the River Kaveri, this temple is dedicated to Goddess Nimishambha, an incarnation of Goddess Parvati. The carvings on the temple tower are exquisite and are the main attraction here along with the idols of other Gods and Goddesses like Ganesha, Hanuman, Lakshmi and Saraswati.

Also known as the Jyoti Maheshwari and Vedhanayki temple, the Kshanambika Devi temple is regarded as one of the oldest temples in the Mandya District of Karnataka. The temple houses the Goddess Kshanambika and devotees visit this temple with the belief that the Devi will grant them their wishes as they approach her. The idol in the temple is said to have been installed by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. The most interesting part about this temple is the Yantra Chakra that is carved in the front of the idol. The Yantra Chakra is made of 9 triangles, 4 facing upwards and the remaining 5 facing downwards depicting power. This 1200-year-old temple is known for having 1.5 lakh diyas lit in the temple on an occasion as an offering to the Devi.

The Narasimhaswamy temple is a Hindu temple located in Srirangapatna. Often overlooked by tourists, this temple is said to be of the most ancient temples known for having been made only from stone. The temple compound includes a green lawn for devotees and tourists. Only one priest performs the necessary rituals daily.
