We organised in advance two safari’s for our stay in Kenya with Flash McTours and both safaris left with us special memories.
The communication at the beginning with Peter was very efficient with him (Read More) listening to our needs and adapting the itinerary accordingly. Once payment had been made though, the communication wasn’t great and we needed to chase him.
James, who was our guide for both trips, was extremely knowledgeable about the animals and birds and was happy to share this with us. He was also a first class driver, we felt safe travelling to and from Nairobi to the parks and when on safari, he was superb in getting a prime position. He also went out of his way, to ensure that our needs were met.
Unfortunately we did break down once on our safari however, James made sure that we did not miss out on game time, it just meant that we did not have time to enjoy the facilities at the lodge.
Despite these hiccups, I would recommend McFlash Tours and especially our guide, James.
I did a 6 day safari and the organisation here was very poor. Despite being assured i’d have plenty of time for my flight out of kenya, i almost missed my flight whilst the driver insisted in dropping (Read More) every other person off first as it was a more convenient route for him (they were travelling between 4 hours to 1 day after me, so not urgent and dropping me off first would have added max 15mins to his driving). Everyday of the safari there was a late pickup, a failure to communicate changes in the schedule. What was worse that the driver generally seemed to have not been told, or had forgot, the agenda of my tour from the africa flash so was constantly asking me things I had not been told either (eg the name/phone number of the driver i was going to be dropped off with for the next days, where the meeting point was).
I’m an easygoing traveller and usually dont mind this sort of thing on normal holidays but when you’ve paid a lot of money (as these safaris are expensive) you do expect that the organisation at the very least would be in place.
In retrospect, i think it would have been less stressful and cheaper booking the hotels, transfers and safaris myself. Even one of the hotels I booked in the tour was not where I ended up staying because according to the tour operator supposedly the hotel had overbooked so I needed to be moved to another hotel (given all of the other things i experienced - i suspect that they had just failed to book my hotel).
I’m giving it two stars because despite my complaints above i did have a wonderful experience, i’m just not sure how much the tour organiser contributed to that.
We booked an Amazing Amboseli Safari, in which we also included a day in Tsavo West National Park. We were guided for 4 days by the fantastic Simon, who was an absolute joy to have with us for those 4 (Read More) days. He was very knowledgeable, was an excellent driver and his funny jokes made sure there was never a dull moment on our trip. We were super happy with the entire experience, from the lodges to the food and the game drives. We would wholeheartedly recommend booking with Africa Flash McTours!
Our recent safari adventure in Kenya was an unforgettable experience for our family of three, including our 10-year-old son. We had the privilege of exploring three of Kenya's most renowned national p (Read More)arks: the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli National Park. Each destination offered its unique charm, and together, they created a journey we'll cherish forever.
Starting in the Masai Mara, we were fortunate to witness the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros – all in their natural habitat. The highlight of our time in the Masai Mara was an incredible cheetah hunting scene. Watching this magnificent animal in action, with its speed and agility, was both thrilling and awe-inspiring. It was like watching a live documentary, and it left us in awe of nature's raw beauty and power.
At Lake Nakuru, we were mesmerized by the vast flocks of flamingos painting the lake pink, alongside sightings of both black and white rhinos. The landscape was stunning, with sweeping views over the lake and the surrounding escarpments. Amboseli National Park, with its iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro, offered us close encounters with large herds of elephants. Our son especially loved seeing the baby elephants playing by the waterholes.
Our safari was made even more special by our driver and guide, Simon. Simon was not just knowledgeable about the wildlife and the parks, but he was also incredibly responsible and attentive to our needs. He ensured that we had the best possible views for photography while maintaining a safe distance from the animals, which made us feel secure and comfortable throughout the trip. His passion for wildlife and dedication to providing an unforgettable experience was evident from the very start.
Overall, our safari was a perfect blend of adventure, education, and relaxation. We were able to create beautiful memories as a family, thanks to the well-organized itinerary and Simon’s exceptional guidance. This journey will remain etched in our hearts forever, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience the magic of Kenya’s wilderness.
