Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport - Darjeeling

On arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra International Airport, meet and greet by our representative. You will be transferred to Darjeeling, a scenic hill station located at an altitude of 6,950 feet. The drive takes approximately 3 hours. Upon reaching, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing and acclimatizing to the pleasant mountain weather. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Start your day early with a visit to Tiger Hill at around 4:00 AM (subject to availability of permits/tokens) to witness the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later in the morning, around 8:30 AM, begin a full-day sightseeing tour covering the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, Ropeway, Tibetan Refugee Self-help Centre (closed on Sundays), Tea Garden (outer view), and the Japanese Temple. Spend the evening at leisure or enjoy shopping in the local markets. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Pelling (6,300 feet), a quaint town in West Sikkim known for its breathtaking views of the snow-capped Kanchenjunga range. The drive via Singla Check Post takes about 4 hours. On arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in Pelling.

After breakfast, start a full-day sightseeing tour. In the first half, cover Darap village, Rimbi waterfalls, Khecheopalri Lake (Wishfulling Lake), and Khangchendzongha waterfalls. In the second half, cover the Pemayangtse monastery, Rabdantse ruins (the second capital of Sikkim), Sang-Ngag Choling (Skywalk), and the New helipad ground. In the evening, free for leisure. Overnight stay at Pelling.

After breakfast, start for Gangtok (5,500 Ft.). En route, visit Sai Temple and Siddheshwar Dham (Chardham), in Namchi. On arrival, check in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtok
After breakfast, set out for a scenic excursion to Tsomgo Lake, situated at an altitude of 12,400 feet and located 37 kilometers from Gangtok. From there, drive another 16 kilometers to visit Baba Mandir at an altitude of 13,200 feet. After exploring the area, return to Gangtok by evening. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Note: Carry two passport-size photos and valid ID proof (Passport/Voter ID/Driving License) – PAN and Aadhaar are not accepted. Children must carry a birth certificate or school ID. Permits and visits are subject to weather conditions.
After breakfast, check out with limited luggage and drive to Lachung, located at 8,738 feet in North Sikkim. En route, stop at several scenic points including the Naga Waterfall, the confluence of the Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu rivers at Chungthang, and Bhim Nala Waterfall. On arrival at Lachung, check in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Lachung.
Note: Due to road conditions, Innova Crysta is not recommended for this route. Same ID rules apply as mentioned for Day 6.
Start your day with an early breakfast and head to Yumthang Valley, also known as the Valley of Flowers, located at an altitude of 12,000 feet. En route, admire the snow-covered landscape and alpine meadows. Visit the Hot Spring on your way back, believed to have medicinal properties. Return to the hotel for lunch. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Lachung.
After breakfast, transfer to Gangtok (5,500 Ft.). On arrival, check-in to the hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and take the departure transfers to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station / Bagdogra International Airport for your onward journey.

As this was my first trip, by booking a package through any travel agency, initially I was little apprehensive what kind of hotels, food and services I would get. Would it be of full value for money e (Read More)tc. etc.? We started our trip from Srinagar Airport, where Mr. Rashid, the driver, was already waiting for us with vehicle. He was of great help throughout the tour. Showed us various local sights with great interest. In the evening we reached Hotel Mountview, Pahalgam. Location of Hotel and surrounding area was just awesome and to our surprise the room and outside view from the room was beautiful. It was very neat and clean room. Hotel Staff was nice, though the food was not as good as per our liking. Next day after local sightseeing in Pahalgam, we left for Srinagar and reached Hotel Four Seasons by the evening. Three night stay at this hotel was the best thing of our tour package. Everything at this hotel was perfect, be it food, hotel staff, room etc. As and when we visit Srinagar, we would definitely like to have our stay at this Hotel in future also. We went for local sightseeing in Srinagar, Gulmerg and Sonmerg. The itinerary of the package was very comfortable and was beyond our expectations. We had full time in our hand to enjoy the sightseeing. Last night of our tour was at Houseboat. We were not so happy at houseboat because we were missing the hospitality given to us by Hotel Four Seasons. Home made Food was really good at this Houseboat. I am thankful to Ms. Pallavi, owner of OM APEX TOURS AND TRAVELS who gave us such a nice package. Her suggestions were of great benefit and help to us. We would definitely like to have another tour package with OM APEX TOURS AND TRAVELS.
