Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu
- Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
- Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel for check-in and rest.
- Attend a briefing session and orientation about the Yatra.
- Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Day 2 Kathmandu Sightseeing
- After breakfast, go for a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu.
- Visit Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples in Nepal, located on the banks of the Bagmati River.
- Explore Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world and an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists.
- Visit the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its ancient palaces and temples.
- Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Day 3 Kathmandu - Nepalgunj
- After breakfast, take a domestic flight to Nepalgunj, a city in the southwestern part of Nepal.
- Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and rest.
- Attend a short orientation session about the upcoming helicopter journey to Kailash Mansarovar.
- Overnight stay in Nepalgunj.
Day 4 Nepalgunj - Simikot - Hilsa - Purang (Taklakot)
- Early morning, take a helicopter ride to Simikot, a small town in the remote Himalayan region.
- From Simikot, board another helicopter to Hilsa, the border town between Nepal and Tibet.
- After completing immigration and custom formalities, cross the border and drive to Purang (Taklakot) in Tibet.
- Rest and acclimatize to the high altitude.
- Overnight stay in Purang.
Day 5 Acclimatization in Purang
- Spend the day acclimatizing to the high altitude in Purang.
- Take a short hike or engage in light activities to adjust to the altitude conditions.
- Visit the local markets and monasteries.
- Overnight stay in Purang.
Day 6 Purang - Mansarovar Lake
- After breakfast, drive to Lake Mansarovar, one of the holiest lakes in Tibet.
- Perform a holy dip and attend a spiritual ceremony at the lake.
- Experience the serene and sacred surroundings of Mansarovar.
- Overnight stay near Mansarovar Lake in guesthouses.
Day 7 Mansarovar - Darchen
- After an early morning worship at Mansarovar Lake, drive to Darchen, the starting point of the Kailash Kora (circumambulation) trek.
- Prepare for the trek and rest at Darchen.
- Attend a group briefing and instructions for the Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation).
- Overnight stay in Darchen.
Day 8 Kailash Kora (Trek)
- Embark on the Kailash Kora, a 3-day trek around the sacred Mount Kailash.
- Walk through picturesque landscapes and witness stunning views of Mount Kailash and the surrounding peaks.
- Visit Dirapuk and Zuthulpuk monasteries along the way, significant religious sites.

- Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.

Day 12 Departure from Kathmandu
- After breakfast, check out from your hotel.
- Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

I (Read More)ts worthwhile to mention that although we had booked only 1 vehicle for 5 persons, prior to the trip for our long road journey Mr Raghav provided 2 vehicles to ensure that we travel comfortably especially since it involved long hours on the road. The drivers were genuinely nice, gave us useful advise and recommendations along the way. Mr Raghav had personally met us in Varanasi and extended his guidance during our stay, took us to all the places we needed to see. He was quick to rectify little hiccups along the way. It was extremely kind of him to provide us with better rooms than what we had booked initially. You don't often come across travel companies that go out of their way to check on you regularly during the tour, and that's precisely the type of service we got from Mr Raghav.
