Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Dehradun – Transfer to Harsil (216 km / 8-9 hrs approx.)
Upon arrival at Dehradun Airport or Railway Station, meet your driver and begin your scenic journey to Harsil via Uttarkashi. Known for its picturesque apple orchards, Harsil holds historical significance, with local legends tracing its apple production to a British settler, Frederick E. Wilson. Check into your hotel, refresh, and enjoy dinner. Overnight stay at Harsil.
After breakfast, head out to explore the Nelong and Gartang Valleys. Nelong Valley, located near the Indo-Tibetan border at 11,000 feet, offers breathtaking views of the Tibetan Plateau. The Gartang Valley features a 150-year-old wood-lined stairway carved into the granite rock face, a masterpiece built by Peshawari Pathans. After the day's adventure, return to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Harsil.
Following breakfast, visit the sacred Mukhba Village, where the idol of Goddess Ganga is kept during winters when the Gangotri Temple becomes inaccessible due to snowfall. Next, explore Dharali Village, renowned for its lush apple orchards and red bean cultivation. An ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva adds spiritual significance to the area, which is believed to be where Bhagiratha performed penance to bring the Ganga to earth. Return to Harsil for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your drive back to Dehradun. Enjoy the beautiful scenery on the way as you conclude your journey with fond memories of the Himalayan retreat.
