Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Guwahati - Transfer to Shillong
  • Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station.
  • Transfer to Shillong, stopping at Umiam Lake, the largest man-made lake in Northeast India.
  • Arrive in Shillong, check in to your hotel.
  • Spend the evening at leisure or explore and shop at Police Bazar.
  • Overnight stay in Shillong.
  • After breakfast, set out for Cherrapunji, the wettest place on earth.
  • Enroute, visit Elephant Falls and Mawkdok Dympep Valley (optional zip-lining at an extra cost).
  • Upon arrival in Cherrapunji, visit Nohkalikai Falls (the fourth highest falls in the world), Seven Sister Falls, Arwah Cave, and Mawsmai Cave.
  • Check in to your hotel in Cherrapunji.
  • Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
  • After breakfast, embark on a trek to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge.
  • Reach Tyrna Village, the starting point of your trek.
  • Trek through lush green fields and cliffs, pass small villages, and reach Nongriat Village to see the Double Decker Living Root Bridge.
  • Enjoy trekking through the bridge and a swim in the natural pool.
  • Hike back to Tyrna and return to your hotel.
  • Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
  • After breakfast, visit Mawlynnong, once awarded as Asia's cleanest village.
  • Explore the 100+ years old Living Root Bridge in Riwai Village with a short trek.
  • Continue to Dawki Village, near the India-Bangladesh border, known for the crystal-clear waters of the Umngot River.
  • Witness the transparent river bed of Umngot River.
  • Drive back to Shillong.
  • Overnight stay in Shillong.
  • After an early breakfast, drive towards Kaziranga National Park (280 kms / 6 hrs).
  • Enroute, visit Mahamritanjay Temple.
  • Arrive at your hotel in Kaziranga in the late afternoon.
  • Overnight stay in Kaziranga.
  • Enjoy jungle activities inside the park, including Elephant and Jeep Safari.
  • Visit the Orchid Park to see various orchids and bamboo, and enjoy local folk dances such as Bihu and Jhumur.
  • Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

1. Entry ticket & Jeep safari are all regulated and controlled by the forest Dept. Govt. of Assam. We do not have any control on the booking of entry ticket & Jeep safari.

2. Elephant rides are conducted and controlled by the forest department. We cannot confirm the same in advance. The ticket counter for booking opens only in the evening, one day prior to the ride. Only after securing the tickets, we can confirm the ride for you.

What's Good: We recently traveled to Assam and Meghalaya with the help of Safar Panda, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. I sincerely appreciate the effort they put i (Read More)nto organizing every detail — from the hotels and rooms to the cab and the driver. The driver Britu Das was extremely friendly and made our journey smooth and enjoyable. Special thanks to Mr. Ujjal and Mr. Amit, who coordinated everything so well. They were always available and supportive, and even when we requested last-minute changes to our itinerary, they accommodated us without any hassle. They went above and beyond to give us the best possible experience and ensured we covered most of the key attractions. The itinerary was thoughtfully designed and executed as planned. The hotels arranged by Safar Panda were top-notch — clean, comfortable, and located in great areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the food provided, especially the breakfast, which was always delicious and well-prepared to ensure we started our days right. Overall, the entire experience was more than worth the amount we paid. We felt well taken care of, and I can confidently say that any customer booking with Safar Panda is sure to have a memorable and enjoyable trip.
