Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Cochin Arrival - Munnar
Upon your arrival at Cochin, you will proceed to Munnar, a breathtaking haven of peace and tranquility, which cannot be portrayed in a single canvas. Situated at 1,600 meters above sea level, Munnar offers an unending expanse of tea plantations, pristine valleys, and mountains. You’re often above the clouds, watching veils of mist clinging to the mountaintops.
Among the exotic flora in the forests and grasslands is the Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes), a flower that blooms once every twelve years and blankets the hills in blue.
On your way to Munnar, visit the Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls. The Cheeyappara Waterfall cascades down in seven steps, while Valara has a chain of waterfalls surrounded by thick green forests. Overnight stay at Munnar.
After breakfast, proceed to Munnar for a full day of sightseeing. Visit Mattupetty Dam (ticket price extra), a concrete gravity dam built in the mountains, which offers many fascinating sights. In addition to the tea plantations and rolling grasslands, the Shola forests in and around Mattupetty are ideal for trekking and are home to various birds.
Later, visit Kundala Dam (ticket price extra), where the famous Neelakurinji flowers bloom once every twelve years, covering the hills and valleys around Kundala Lake.
En route, visit Echo Point and Pothamedu View Point. Echo Point is covered with abundant green sceneries and always offers a lush, picturesque view. Pothamedu View Point is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of coffee, tea, and cardamom plantations. It is an adventurous destination, ideal for nature walks or trekking. Overnight stay at Munnar.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Thekkady. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and enjoy sightseeing in Thekkady. Visit a spice plantation, experience a boat ride to Periyar National Park, and enjoy the evening free for shopping.
Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary: The sanctuary features a picturesque lake at its heart, formed by the construction of a dam in 1895. The reservoir meanders around the wooded hills, providing a permanent water source for local wildlife. Though it is a Tiger Reserve, tourists often see Indian elephants playing and bathing in the waters of Periyar Lake. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Alleppey, a destination known for its immense natural beauty called the “Venice of the East.” Alleppey is famous for its backwaters, boat races, houseboat holidays, beaches, and coir products.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy a serene cruise through the backwaters of Alleppey. Overnight stay in Alleppey.
After breakfast, check out of the houseboat and proceed to Kovalam, an internationally renowned beach destination in Kerala that has attracted tourists since the 1930s. Kovalam comprises three adjacent crescent-shaped beaches. The southernmost and most popular beach is Lighthouse Beach, while the middle beach is known as Hawah Beach. Samudra Beach in the north remains least affected by modernity.
Kovalam offers accommodations to suit all budgets. The boundless blue waters of the Arabian Sea and miles of white sands, washed by the surf at the feet of towering palms and rocky promontories, make this beach a paradise.
In the afternoon, you can visit Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple, the Zoo, and the Museum. The rest of the day is free to relax and enjoy the beach. Overnight stay in Kovalam.
After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing in Trivandrum, a city named after the Holy Ananth, the cosmic serpent with a thousand heads. Start by visiting Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple (260 years old), the city's most religious icon, built by the Travancore Royal family. The deity, Padmanabha, reclines on the sacred serpent Anantha and is made from over 10,000 salagramam (sacred stones) brought from Nepal by elephants.
Next, visit Puthe Maliga Palace Museum (ticket price extra), a 200-year-old palace featuring carved wooden ceilings, marble sculptures, and imported Belgian glass. You'll find Kathakali images, an armory, portraits of maharajas, ornate thrones, and other artifacts.
Later, visit Veli Tourist Village, a popular picnic spot known for its peaceful serenity. Here, the lake meets the Arabian Sea. The main attractions are the floating bridge and the floating restaurant, which serves various delicious dishes.
By evening, proceed to Shankumugham Beach, famous for its breathtaking sunset views. A beautiful mermaid sculpture, over 35 meters long, is a major attraction at this beach. Later, return to Kovalam for an overnight stay.
The dream vacation comes to an end. After breakfast, we will drive you to Trivandrum Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.

Sundeep's Trip to Paro, Punakha, Thimphu, Eastern Bhutan, Bhutan

What's Good: ## Bhutan Experience Our journey through Bhutan was largely impressive, with knowledgeable guides who showcased the country's rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes with g (Read More)enuine enthusiasm. The drivers navigated the winding mountain roads with skill and professionalism, ensuring our comfort throughout most of the journey. However, our second night at Paro Rema Resort fell short of expectations in terms of dining. The food quality was disappointing compared to other meals we enjoyed in Bhutan, lacking both flavor and presentation that would be expected at a resort of this caliber. ## Sikkim Portion The transition between destinations proved problematic. Our transfer from Bhutan to Gangtok felt unnecessarily rushed, with a driver who seemed more concerned with completing the journey quickly than ensuring passenger comfort or allowing us to appreciate the scenic route. Upon arrival in Gangtok, we were pleased with our hotel's prime location on MG Road, offering convenient access to local attractions, shopping, and dining options. Unfortunately, the hotel's service standards did not match its excellent location. Staff responsiveness was inconsistent, and several basic amenities were either missing or required multiple requests. Overall, while the Bhutan portion of our tour delivered a memorable experience, the Sikkim segment would benefit from significant improvements to transportation and accommodation service quality.
