Our stay started off by being greeted by friendly staff. But it quickly turned bad when we entered the room and within minutes I pulled back the duvet on the bed to see stains on the sheets (gross!) I called the front desk and they brought new sheets to our door right away. We had to strip the bed and make our own bed with the new sheets. I wanted to like this place and everything else seemed clean otherwise.
It got worse - On the morning of our check out day - I woke up and went into the bathroom to see a gigantic roach in the floor. Which mortified me to no end. The thought that roaches were there all along gave me the creeps and made me want to throw out anything that I brought with me on the trip in fear that maybe they crawled into our suitcases.
A lovely family trip completely ruined. I dont live in this kind of filth and I dont vacation in filth - EVER! At the price per night (with their prices spiked during the holidays too!) Id expect more! I spent over $500 at this hotel to have a room with bed stains and roaches! Im appalled.
I told the front desk upon check out that we had a roach. She didnt seem to be phased. She only told me that theyd have someone spray the room. The manager apologized via email only after I filled out their automated survey that they sent after our stay. The manager says that water bugs (is that what they are calling roaches?!!) are indigenous to the area - which completely floors me! Ive stayed in the Williamsburg area for years and years at lots of different hotels and never once experienced roaches and stains. The staff was friendly but did not care about my awful experience. Im left feeling ripped off and still completely grossed out - no partial or full refund offered. Only a sorry. That wont fix my familys ruined trip paid for by my hard earned money.
I DO NOT recommend this place- dont be fooled by the beautiful exterior!
