Very good

Beautiful and well kept.

The stairs were hell, wish they had AC right through the building, its uncomfortably humid and hot anywhere outside the room.

The shower had no ventilation, there is no full length mirror which would come in handy for female guests.

Beautifully decorated but missing detailed touches to give it the 5 star experience

I feel like the space is beautifully decorated and the rooftop restaurant as well as the bar with rooftop pool is a nice touch.

The rooms are pretty small - dont know if that is a Stone Town thing and then I got a balcony view room but it didnt really show anything. Also, full length mirrors are very important for people on holiday.

Comfy, practical (location wise) and very nice

It is a little gem inside of Stone Town. Very close to all must see attractions and the staff was really kind to us. The facilities were great and it was well taken care of. So were we as guests. Highly recommend!

The only thing we missed was a door to separate bedroom from bathroom- but that might be a matter of taste and need for privacy. Other than that - nothing to wish for!

Very good

The staff were excellent and very attentive. They went above and beyond. The hotel was very centrally located, modern, and has a great rooftop. The daily made to order breakfast was yummy.

The only drawbacks of the hotel are the walls are very thin so you can hear everything happening around you and the Wi-Fi was very slow so it was difficult to work if you're on a business trip or have video calls.

The location is good, near the main attractions of stone town. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is really kind.

The bathroom drain was clogged and even quick showers flooded the room. The internet did not work on the first day of our staying.

My fiance, who is currently pregnant, and I recently booked a two-night stay at Upendo House, expecting a luxurious and comfortable experience as advertised. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met, leading us to cut our stay short. Firstly, we were disheartened by the cleanliness of the rooms. The standards seemed to fall short of what one would expect from a luxury establishment. This aspect was particularly concerning given my fiance's pregnancy, as we were seeking a safe and hygienic environment. Additionally, the noise level within the building was continuously disruptive. This constant disturbance significantly detracted from the peaceful experience we hoped for. A particularly challenging aspect was the early morning prayers conducted right outside our window at 5 am. The lack of soundproofing meant that our sleep was greatly affected. While we understand that every guest's experience can vary, we felt it necessary to share our own. We hope that Upendo House takes this feedback into consideration to improve future guests' experiences.

Good place to stay in Stone Town. Great views but quite overpriced.

The rooms were clean, the pool and the view of the city were beautiful.

I think it is quite overpriced. I also think that a popular place like it, should have speed points which allow clients to use the tapping function.

Superb

A great base for your stay in Stone Town.

The hotel is super central so you have stone town on your doorstep. The staff are so accommodating and friendly and also made sure I was safe as a solo female traveller. The rooms are clean, cosy and I felt very comfortable. The restaurant serves brilliant food and the rooftop bar is gorgeous too.

The soundproofing between rooms is a little less than expected but equally didnt disturb me. It was mainly just through the door onto the corridor but there are only 4 rooms to each floor so isnt a huge problem.
