More a private hostel than a hotel

When we had issues at night with loud guests, the night staff was fantastic at trying to help us as best he could. View of the River at breakfast.

The room was very small with stains on the carpets and holes in the walls. You needed to sit on the toilet sideways so you didn't hit your arm on the toilet roll holder. The TV was mounted on the wonk. You can hear everything happening in other rooms and outside. We could smell the smokers outside and some guests were playing music loudly until 3am, causing issues. The only member of staff who was helpful was the gentleman who was on night and breakfast duty, who was amazing.

Comfortable and served its purpose

Comfortable, clean and just where I needed to be with the location

Room didnt smell nice but was ok. There were people which I assume were members of staff in the corridor talking loudly at 5.45 in the morning.

Lovely stay

Staff although thin on the ground were absolutely brilliant. Everyone of them excelled in making our stay comfortable. They were absolutely rushed off their feet (I can only assume there was a staff shortage) and not once did they moan or look put out when something was asked of them. Well done to each and every member of staff who was working Saturday/Sunday.

We paid for breakfast and were told that we had to line up again to purchase tea/coffee. Maybe add that price onto breakfast. Would be better for guests and reduce pressure on staff.

We liked it because it was away from the city

So what can I say about the townhouse it started off quite nice. Till I got woken up at 1am by a crying baby right next to my room I was staying at. I genuinely thought the rooms would be soundproof but apparently not. The constant trains going on the track aswell. Didnt get to sleep till 4am missed breakfast due to not getting enough sleep. Then after a long day christmas shopping me and my partner then both got into the shower to then be startled by someone banging on our door then a fire alarm going off continuously while not even dressed. Having to quickly throw something on to then wait outside in freezing cold weather for about 30 minutes due to a supposed gas leak then after being allowed back into the hotel we got told food was unavailable all of the night even though we planned to have food there so we had to go somewhere else. Im truly unhappy with my stay! This was meant to be a relaxing holiday but its been filled with disappointment and stress. Id like a full refund because Im not happy with my stay at all.

Overall I liked everything except the bed and shower.

The bathroom needs some kind of rug. And I didnt really like the shower, because you cant close the door. Therefore, when you wash, the entire bathroom floor becomes wet.

Beautiful place to stay

The staff was so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The bedroom was very big with a comfortable bed and a brilliant view of the garden and river. The surrounding area was beautiful, and a few Riverside pubs to take a rest and enjoy the river views. Short drive to Nowich Town centre, or save on care parking and take the bus, which stops a 2 minute walk from the pub. Would totally recommend and will be returning again.
