Superb

I will definitely return, this was a real find.

Beautiful inn, really cosy, gorgeous bar/restaurant with amazing food and in a great location. The rooms were really cozy.

Was noisy at closing up time, lots of banging of doors etc. Majority of staff were amazing.

Festive break

Very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. Great ambience in the public areas. The duty manager attempted to help with the dog smell in room 9, we accepted a complementary bottle of wine with our evening meal as it was not possible to move rooms and we did not want to cancel our stay.

Our room 9 was a cosy double and smelt of dogs on arrival, while the room was vacuumed again, and air freshener used the underlying aroma persisted throughout our stay. It would be good to request a room not used as pet friendly on future visits. I'm just not sure how to do this or if it is possible for all room types. The radiators were either on or off, and the thermostatic control did not appear to have any difference between 1 and 5.

Pleasant

Avoid the annex. Tired and a walk from the main building.

The main property is lovely.

We however were put in the annex which was tired; showed signs of damp and damage (I have photos) If Id known we werent in the main building I wouldnt have booked as it meant taking the children outside in the rain after supper before bed. It should have been made clear when the booking was confirmed

Superb

Relaxing, comfortable, casual and Staff and Manager exceptional

The food was excellent. They catered well as we are both gluten free. No mistakes. Even on Christmas Day they got it right despite being very busy.

Bit difficult to find our way back in the dark until we used Google Maps. Our Garmin Sat Nav got it wrong.

Superb hotel in superb surroundings.

Super quiet room overlooking the mill pond. Best full-English breakfast ever. Excellent staff. Superb cleanliness in room and public areas. Characterful bar/dining areas.

Amazing

Everything about our stay was amazing. The staff were welcoming, polite, and attentive. The room was cosy and comfortable and quiet. The food was delicious, and the bar looked amazing, with the real fires Xmas decorations and little nooks and crannies for seating.

I didn't like having to leave! It was such a lovely stay

Exceptional

It was all perfect., and a super great value breakfast.

....the extraction fan in the bathroom continued to run 5 hours after I had a shower. I couldn't sleep at all. I brought it to the manager attention and she laughed. So I won't be returning. And I strongly suggest that others check this problem out before parting with money.
