The Mercantile Hotel in New Orleans was highly praised for its suite-style rooms, vintage record players with jazz records, and impeccable customer service. Guests appreciated the hotel's location, w (Read More)hich was near the River, casino, French Quarter, and other attractions. There were some minor signs of age such as a lack of working elevators and occasional breakdown of appliances, but overall, guests would happily return and recommend the hotel. The exposed brick and character in the rooms were particularly liked, and although the service was slow, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was average, but the hotel was conveniently located for exploring nearby activities such as the WW 11 museum, mall, ferry boat, and French Quarter.

Style, location, true NOLA vibes. Staff was amazing, friendly,& helpful. Very clean.

Very good

Small, cute hotel.

They had a record player in the room. That was a nice touch as it was all jazz records. Nice touch to highlight the New Orleans music scene. The bathrooms were clean. The water was extremely hot for showers. Love the shutter window shades in the bathroom. In walking distance to restaurants. I felt safe alone with my two kids. Front desk staff were nice and responsive to any questions I had.

The touch screen telephone they had to contact the front desk didnt work. Rust in the bathroom and shower. The toilet was a little slow to flush. The soap, shampoo and conditioner were very small bottles like the hotels use to have. The linen for the fold out bed was stained. Valet took a very long time to get our car. They looked overwhelmed and understaffed. Valet was the only choice given for parking.

Good value for the price.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the functional record player was a nice touch. We were actually listening to the jazz album while having cocktails. Having a suite with separate bedroom and living room area for the price of a smaller room in the "Big Chain" hotels was great.

There were light switches that didn't control anything. You had to manually turn on almost every light fixture. The living room t.v. only let you watch one channel. It wouldn't connect to the internet and the virtual assistant (Angie) that was supposed to double as a phone didn't work either. Luckily the t.v. in the bedroom worked so my daughter had something to watch.

Breakfast food never changed. Everyday same food. Should change the manu every 2 days , as least.

This hotel was amazing from check-in to check out. The hotel was clean. The rooms were spacious and the views were good. Felt safe in the area with small kids and walking distance to whatever you want to do. Will be using this hotel every trip

View was of a brick wall. pics in ads show great view, having a breakfast available was a great bonus, however it was the exact same breakfast everyday. eggs watery, there was hot water there, which did not taste like coffee (bonus), but it wasn't hot.

Staff was very rude, we booked queen suite and description said: two queen beds, they just gave us one queen bed, to sleep three persons. They denied to move us to another room. And when I showed the reservation details they said they didntt have another room. Reservation was make three months before arrived. The cost of the room they provided me was $200.00 less from what I paid, after many calls Im still waiting for the refund. Room was not clean, sleeping bed table was sticky and no towels and no toiletries at the batroom, we had to ask for this at the reception.
