The Buttery in Oxford city centre offers a lovely, comfortable stay with spacious, clean rooms. The location is central and convenient for exploring the city on foot. Despite steep stairs and no lift (Read More), guests found the stay relaxing and worry-free. Rooms are well-equipped with amenities, including tea/coffee facilities and toiletries. A fantastic stay in the heart of the city, and the perfect place to propose.

The room was lovely. I'd paid for the deluxe room, and it met my expectations. The room was large and the bathroom clean. The views from the window were excellent and there was a range of shower gels and shampoos available. The big thing though: It was here that I proposed to my girlfriend and the staff could NOT have been better about accommodating things like flowers arriving on my bed while away and keeping everything a secret.

Well, the big one first: For night/morning one (of two) the hot water wasn't working. This was fixed the next day while we were out and was hot again by the evening. The room could probably have done with a lamp on the writing desk too.

Good location average hotel I would say 3 stars not 4

Position couldnt be better parking is about 0.2 miles away but it does cost 40!!!!

No parking we was on the bottom level and all we could hear was people walking above us till around 1am very noisy

Lovely affordable Hotel

I prefer a bath to a shower and my request was met with no trouble at all. My room was extremely comfortable and clean with nice touches such as decent biscuits and a good variety of teas/coffees and bottles of water. It was also good to have a box of tissues on one of the night stands. The double bed was so comfy, the room was very clean and quiet even though Broad St was hosting an out door Christmas Market. What a lovely find in Oxford City. I shall certainly check this Hotel out for availability again when visiting Oxford in the future as it is in such an excellent location and value for money .Thanks to all staff who made my short one night stay here very welcoming and pleasurable.

Very good

Great way to spend our New Years Eve!

Front facing room with a view of Trinity College which was lovely, lovely high ceilings so felt very spacious and big comfy bed. Everything was very clean and superb location for seeing all the sites, within 10 minute walk of everything

Perhaps providing a few more options for the tea/coffee making facilities and the option of dairy free milk but that's being very picky!

Superb

Was a good experience

Location convenient, across from the old building of an Oxford college and really feeling in the middle of Oxford. Close to bus station and other Oxford places of interest. Check in was smooth and they got one room ready early so we can put our luggage in upon arrival at noon. Rooms are very spacious.

The stairs can be a bit tricky to navigate.

Very good

Absolutely amazing location, and the view from our street-facing window was breathtaking! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Only a couple of little things: shower was not hot (in fact, barely warm) and TV was not working.

Great location and value

Great location in heart of Oxford.

My only comment is that to access the hotel you have to climb some old steep stairs. Fine for me as fit and able, but wouldnt recommend for anyone with mobility issues, unless I missed alternative access.
