Guests had an amazing time at The Base Vegan Retreat celebrating a birthday in a well-equipped cabin with a wood burner and baby cot. They enjoyed delicious vegan breakfast and afternoon tea, and spe (Read More)nt time with friendly rescued animals. The hot tub was a bonus. The vegan food was praised, and a trip to a nearby plant-based pub was recommended. Guests enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with homemade sandwiches while surrounded by adorable animals and friendly staff.

We loved pretty much everything at this place. We had booked a cabin for 2 nights. It was more than what we expected. It had everything we needed for our stay and more, with attention to detail on every corner of the house. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. My daughter loved the rabbits and ducks. Bonus points for the board games, books, guitar, drinking hot water and woodfire box.

May be a bit more of lighting in kitchen area would help.

All good/very nice, would happily use again for sure :-)

All good (ate elsewhere but available menu looked nice, would like to try whenever I stay again).

Not any great problem but wasn't sure how to speak to proprietors during one-night stay e.g., what's the drill checking out first thing. Able to catch someone in the morning though when they were attending to an ASDA van delivery.

Owners were very helpful. Lovely soya cream with the tea. Nicely decorated room. Our room was quite small but very well designed. Very comfortable bed and peaceful night. wonderful shower. Enough towels Tea and biscuits v nice. Animals nice to see in the garden area. Free parking. All round very nice vegan place but suitable for anyone. We Didnt mind the no animal products on site rule. We would return and perhaps stay in the outside lodge next time

The retreat was further from Bristol than we realised. 20 in an Uber but to be fair thats reflected in the price, and it had parking and it was more peaceful than staying in centre. Hot tub overpriced (85) in our opinion as its been much cheaper in other places weve stayed. 50 more reasonable.

Charming oasis in the midst of a city

Our hosts were friendly and responsive, clearing a space to store our bikes. The room was very well organised for the space available and most comfortable, the fan in the heat was particularly welcome. Set on top of a hill overlooking the valley it was more peaceful and cool than expected for the city.

The Base Vegan Retreat

The cabin had all the amenities (and more) needed to make this a wonderful and relaxing stay. We didn't eat at the accommodation, but spoke to some who did, all said the food was great, it certainly smelt good.

I am really had pushed to find anything that we didn't like about the stay
