The Residence Inn by Marriott Bakersfield West is a favorite choice for long-term stays, providing the comfort of an apartment with a full kitchen. However, one reviewer was disappointed that the Sta (Read More)te of California rate was no longer offered. The rooms were clean, but the breakfast was somewhat disappointing, with chalky and off-putting eggs. The concept of pearl sugar waffles was interesting, but execution could be improved. Overall, regular waffles would have been preferred.

Very pleasant place to stay as you travel along your way.
It was our first stay at the Residence Inn Bakersfield, CA. Entering the room the first thing you notice is the amount of space. The sitting area is the size of a living room. The couch has pillows and is very comfortable to sit on. There's a nice sized ottoman. There are outlets throughout the room. The kitchen area has your silverware, the cabinets have cups, glasses, bowls, plates, skillet, and pots and pans. The coffee pot is a Kurig. We had a king sized bed which was very comfortable. The roll-in shower had a large and small chair to sit on. They provide medium size bottles of soap, shampoo, and rinse. There is a Dennys just down the block. We will be staying there on our return to San Francisco, CA.

They allow pets however, there is no grassy area for them to do their business. And, don't be shocked when checking out as they charge you over $100.00 dollars for pet room maintenance. I would have preferred a standard charge of $25 - 50 dollars. They could check the room at check-out and if a maintenance fee was needed they could keep the over $100 dollars but, if there is no damage they could keep the standard pet cost and return the rest of the pet maintenance.

Comfortable bed, nice strong shower and strong air conditioning. The kitchen was well stocked and the room was cleanr.
Front desk clerk was not well trained, not helpful and gave misinformation. She seemed to be distracted and not fully engaged in the interaction of checking us in or helping us.
