Staff always helpful and the beds are super comfortable!

I've stayed at The Alan a few times it's a great location, good staff and internet a great place to work during the day.

It is definitely worth paying a little extra for a signature double or a suite ... the standard doubles are not a patch on these rooms and don't have the same modern lofty feel!

Fresh design for the Manchester hotel scene, few minor let downs.

Great design and friendly staff.

Hairs in bathroom, stained bed linen. Noisy hotel (from bar and from exposed vents and ducting).

Some issues with the room but staff were very helpful and apologetic - even offered us free drinks!

Comfy bed, helpful staff, great location, cool design, having a speaker in the room was also a nice touch!

Shower took a while to heat up, some amenities like milk for tea weren't in the room on arrivial, towels from previous guests were left behind.

Poor offerings in the room, 2 milk sachets, two tea bags! No water providedthis is standard in hotels of this price bracket. At breakfast all tables had one linen napkin and one paperboth paper would look better surely if times are hard! Bed was hard too despite the mattress topper. Such a shame from such a lovely hotel building.

Beautiful design, the bar is very nice and breakfast was delicious.

There was not good ventilation in the bathroom.

Honestly, the worst thing about the stay was the smell of soap, shower gel and shampoo. It smells like sambuca and it honestly prevented me from showering or washing my hands with the soap. Please consider changing this, it smells awful. Sorry!

Great building with irregular features

Good size room, centric building, young crowd vibe. The entrance us taken by the restaurant, quite popular. The shower has very hoy, strong jet water.

Tatty features in the room, standard quality. Very cheap furniture and dirty corners and some mould in the bathroom. No parking and not accesible entrance.

The decor was lovely and location very central. Fabulous large bathroom.

The room was too hot, even though we had fan on coldest setting and the window open. There could be some improvements in housekeeping eg no little milks for teas and coffees, but they did let me bring up small jugs of milk from the bar. All the power points in our room were bunched in one corner of the room and one side of a bed had no bedside table so I had my stuff on the floor.
