Excellent welcoming Guest House convenient for York Centre

I was very pleased to find Moorgarth Guest House to be everything wanted for a B&B in the city; welcoming and helpful staff, comfortable and warm room with good facilities, clean and cared for, easy access and proximity to city centre and eating venues. I enjoyed my stay.

Friendly, clean almost ideal. Heating turned off too early

The property was well built and clean. it had many original features being an older type building with a wonderful staircase leading up the stairs from the hall. All of the decor was of a high standard. The property was insulated well from any noise. There was plenty of tea, making facilities with biscuits, tea, hot chocolate and a large mug. Breakfast was was available in the morning for additional charge and locally sourced fresh eggs from the a farm were available. Facilities, were good and the ensuite facilities worked well. Shower gel was provided and also a glass to rinse your mouth, after you had brushed your teeth. Extra tea making facilities could be given upon request if needed. The owner was very friendly and accommodating.

The heating was turned off during the night, which made it very cold, and it did not turn on by the time I left at 6:30 in the morning, so it was very cold when the heating wasnt on. The room was pink, which wasnt particularly relaxing, and the TV was old, and the remote controlled did not work properly. There wasnt easy access to a plug to charge your phone next to the bed.

Superb

Pleasant and comfortable stay.

I originally booked a single room and upon arrival I was upgraded to a double room free of charge. The room was clean and spacious, with an ensuite bathroom and free wifi. The staff were very nice and informed me of all the places to eat within the area, and there were many! I would definitely recommend this guesthouse.

The water in the shower had very little pressure.
