The facilities meet our expectations. It would've been a perfect one if not due to the rude staff.

The tap mixer was broken, and we lost cold water in our shower. The maintenance guy came promptly to put a temporary fix, but the issue resurfaced within minutes, and the shower was burning hot. Then, one of the front desk staff told me off for not raising the issue the 2nd time (because I politely asked if the hotel could do anything for the inconvenience). Then, after talking to the GM, I realised that the rude behaviour was due to a systemic issue. I wonder if someone higher up would contact me for a follow-up. Hmm...

Great location. Furnishing is outdated.

The location right on the lakefront and a good atmosphere. Also very good beds and pillows.

Breakfast was too basic for a 4.5 star hotel. TV was extremely dusty. Needs an update to 21st century furnishings. Bad wifi. Too expensive for the offered service level.

Superb

Great location. Nice treat for Christmas Day overlooking Lake Taupo. We had a lovely meal in the evening but had made sure that we booked. Nice swim in the outdoor pool.

Best location in Taupo, but would request refurbished rooms

Great location, superb views, restaurant food excellent

The room was a big let down. Having booked a King bed suite @ $400+ per night paid in advance through Bookings.com for our special Christmas, it wasn't available through "maintenance" issues. The alternative offered at $100 pn less looked OK with lovely lake views, but had two beds and a tiny original circa 1980's shower room. This unit (816) looked well overdue for a refurb. Low set beds had overly soft thin mattresses and we were not happy at all to find next morning they were the cheapest Sleepyhead commercial mattresses from ~ 20 - 25 years ago! (we know being former Sleepyhead commercial customers ourselves). Being Christmas Day didn't complain then, but advised reception at checkout next day.
