Guests praised the Mercure Oxford Eastgate Hotel for its nice and clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and great location between the old city center and Oxford Brooks University. Some guests not (Read More)ed a funky smell in the lounge but didn't find it a major issue. The hotel's attached restaurant had poor reviews and was not busy. One guest mentioned thin walls being a minor drawback but overall enjoyed the discreet and quiet location.

TV did not work in my room Had to ask for heat to be turned on. Room service dinner (Goats Cheese Salad) not great.

Hot water in shower, helpful receptionist

first room had a shower so small I had to scrape my skin to get in it asked for another room got an upgrade receptionist was helpful and polite. New room had shower in bath. Room was cold all night because heating didnt switch on.Double bed was 2 squeaky single beds pushed together with uncomfortable separating ridge in the middle. Duvet was cheap and thin. You can hear every footstep and movement in the room above. as I did at 5.30 in the morning. Very bad value for 150 a night.

Room felt a little tired (besides bathroom which was very nice) Breakfast wasnt the best - better coffee required and more healthy options

Brilliant. Everything we could have asked for.

Staff were friendly, room was perfect.

Parking is a nightmare but understand its difficult when in the centre of Oxford.

Certainly be happy to stay there again.

Breakfast was reasonable. Staff very cooperative and helpful.

Heating in the room was off when we arrived, room took 2 days to reach a comfortable temperature.

Exceedingly helpful staff at all times. Thank you.

I'm disabled and was just out of hospital so the room was on the ground floor which was a grand help. A rather noisy fan outside was a bit noisy throughout the night.

It would be wonderful if someone could clear all the rubbish and dumped , no longer ued or wanted furniture and dead trees and bits of carpet outside my window.It was sad to look out on all this rubbish.
