The Jardim da Lapa by Shiadu is a fantastic boutique guest house with a welcoming and friendly staff. The rooms are beautifully decorated with quirky furniture and the beds are clean and comfortable. (Read More) The guest house has a cosy vibe and is situated in a great location. Some guests mentioned the noise from airplanes and the bright light in the room at night, but overall, the experience is highly recommended. The breakfast is also delicious.

Superb

We were very satisfied with our choice of accommodation especially that we needed 2 rooms.

Great staff, very quite location, nice rooms. The breakfast is very good as well.

Not really an issue, however: not very close to city center, however you can use Uber for 5-6 Euro to get to the center.

Overall great hotel.

It was very clean and nice room. The stuff was friendly. Beautiful garden with a pool and very good breakfast.

The temperature in a room was a bit cold.

Fernanda was most amazing, professional, kind and welcoming, we knew we were in good hands with her!

The breakfast was wonderful, but it was the same things served daily with a few minor changes like juice selection or cheese selection. We loved the organic eggs and fresh juices! Fernanda, whom we thought was the general manager, has amazing leadership qualities and she made sure we were taken care of and any issues that arose were promptly handled by her while she juggled everything else with grace and professionalism. The property needs a GM with her leadership capabilities, top notch hospitality skills, warmth, professionalism and customer service skills. We observed her for 6 days doing multiple peoples work with grace and poise.

*Two things about breakfast that bothered me were the fact that one of the employees (man in black shorts) would swipe food and eat as he was placing platters on table, this I find unhygienic and unprofessional since he has access to all the food in the kitchen. Also, the daily cleanup of the breakfast buffet was very loud and chaotic, every employee would come out and it was extremely noisy and it just ruined the serene morning setting. It was almost as if people were angry, I don't know if this cultural or lack of training on proper removal of dishes and silverware in a dining setting. *On check-in, we were informed by the young man who checked us in that the pool was not heated because the property is trying to save money. The same for the hammam, although with this he told us we could request that they turn it on if we alerted them 15 minutes prior to use. It's unfortunate because we traveled with our swimwear hoping to take daily dips, but unfortunately it was not to be except for the Swedish/Scandinavian guests who according to the same young man weren't afraid to use the pool as they came from countries where this is normal for them to submerge in cold waters during the winter months.

nice hotel but damp room

Breakfast and staff were great, the hotel was nicely designed and great location

The room was very damp. All our clothes became damp and the towels did not dry. The towel warmer was broken which didn't help. A humidifier, at minimum, would be necessary in this room to make it comfortable
