The ICONA Avalon is a very clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It is in a perfect location and great for families with kids. The restaurant brew pub's food was not great, but convenient for (Read More)a quick bite. The consistent service and improvement in the brew pub's food quality and service were appreciated. The acquisition of a neighboring property added more dining and entertainment options. A minor altercation with a missing item was handled well by hotel security. Overall, the hotel offers amazing quality and is worth every penny.

When booking I thought price noted was for 2 nights -- not a single night -- the charge was not a good value at all for 2 nights in end of September. The Icona staff said they would change the billing to reg fee for night if OK'd by Booking.com. Booking.com said OK, but hotel never followed through. Read booking details very carefully for day or trip, can be confusing.

Our stay was lovely despite the few inconveniences.
The facility was lovely, clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Meals in the restaurant were excellent and a great value for the price. Parking was very convenient. Pool had very convenient seating area with food delivered right to our chairs.
Facilities are inconvenient for older people. For example, the 3 chairs in the bedroom had no arms, so getting in/out of them was impossible. Had to move chair close to bed/furniture in order to stand up. Bathroom had no safety bars near toilet. I had to use the lobby restroom - even in the middle of the night - in order to urinate. I have arthritic knees and cannot stand without something to hold on to. TV channels impossible to access.

We love the atmosphere and the convenience of everything! The staff was wonderful. The beach staff did a great job setting up umbrellas and chairs
Making these minor suggestions: when the staff is aware of scheduled weddings onsite, reservations outside the wedding guests should not be on first floor. The first floor should be used for wedding guests. When booking at Icona in the future I will request not to be assigned a room on the first floor. Icona reception staff should also be able to identify returning guests! We were at this resort in June and booked again for September. We have been going to Icona for the last 3 years!

Our room was right near all of the rooftop air conditioners so that was. Little annoying!
