Brian at the front desk. The bartenders in the lounge are strange. The cleaning staff doesn't do a good job or speak English.

Comfortable stay to make our Thanksgiving night special. Disappointed by additional charges.

Booking.com was great making the reservation and even gave us a credit for booking through them. Professional staff and comfortable room. We have stayed at the Viking in the past. We looked forward to returning and were not disappointed until we received our AMEX statement. Look forward to booking at another facility the next time we are in Newport.

The guest in the room above us kept walking back and forth with heavy foot steps. The problem was the guest, not the facility. It lasted about 45 minutes starting at 9:00 pm. I have no idea what their issue was. Found that we had an additional $45.00 charge on our AMEX statement. Called and was told that it was for "Urban Destination Fee" $45.00, Really?? There was no mention in the fine print about this charge. We already had $50.85 Resort Fee, $45.00 parking, etc. Our $229.00 advertised room finally cost $410.00. Never heard of a Urban Destination Fee. Next trip we will book somewhere else.

GREAT FOR A SHORT STAY ... WITHIN WALKING DISTANCES OF MOST ACTIVITIES AND RESTAURANTS

Room was great... near elevator .. very quiet.... POOL AREA SUPER ... VERY QUIET ... whirlpool not working... but very relaxing anyways... .

THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT WOULD BE SUNDAY MORNING WE WANTED TO GO TO BRUNCH .... WENT INTO BRUNCH AREA.... NO ONE AT HOSTESS STATION ... WALKED TOWARD STAFF -- ASIAN WAITRESS VERY RUDE .... "SAID YOU HAVE TO WAIT ... THERE IS A LINE... WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE... " THERE WAS ONE PERSON SITTING OUTSIDE THIS AREA... WE LEFT AND WENT ACROSS THE STREET TO THE CAFE TO GET BREAKFAST ... THANKS

Great staff and location but overpriced at $500 per night.

Location and staff

Poor quality rooms particularly the bathroom with a shabby bath and loose shower head which had to be pushed back into the wall. Poor value for money. A British Premier Inn at around 100 max/night would be preferable
