The location of the hotel deserves a much better management.

The location was extraordinary.

The staff needs urgently to remember smiling. The SPA is very small that can fit only 2 persons at once and covered with spider webs. The breakfast was very poor and not open buffet. As only 1 staff serves during breakfast, you need to wait 30-45 minutes.

We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Fabulous location with amazing views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the inclusion of the beach club.

The mattress felt old (we could feel the inner springs).

Great location, older hotel, worth a stay. Be prepared for a climb!!!

The hotel location is fantastic, The view from the infinity edge pool is wonderful, The hotel is older but well maintained. The breakfast selection was great and included the choice of some hot options

The funicular railway to get from the parking lot to the hotel was inoperable (mentioned in other reviews) for the whole of our stay. You then have to climb almost 300 steps to get to the reception area. They will bring up your cases but it would be an issue if you have any mobility issues. They do not even offer a drink or credit for the inconvenience.

Lovely property with the best views youll find in Amalfi; improvement needed to truly make the stay a 5 star experience

Property is beautiful - the pool and all the gardens / different sitting areas are lovely. I dont think you can find a better view anywhere else, including Positano. very fun taking the cable car up to the hotel. Our room had a large patio off of it which had an incredible view of Amalfi. Maiori is a beautiful town and while there are still great restaurants and lovely beaches, its much quieter / less touristy than Positano which was great. Nice to have the boardwalk along the water as well and the town is relatively flat compared to other areas of Amalfi. The staff (particularly Diego who works the downstairs reception) was absolutely lovely. Would definitely stay again if they rectify certain issues (I.e. the ant situation / cleanliness and the gym).

They really need to get better signage - the driveway into the hotel is actually another hotel (Pietra di Luna) which makes things super confusing especially since HBL has no signs. Cleanliness could be improved, as there were ants present on our floor. Additionally, I was excited to workout in the outdoor gym but none of the cardio equipment works / its in complete disrepair and the weights were so old and basically useless. we had to leave really early at 5am to drive back to Rome to catch our flight and the staff could have made things run smoother for us - the cable car had broken down (obviously not their fault) but it was pretty dark walking down all those stairs at 5am and then on top of that, confusion / miscommunication on where our car keys were (despite confirming where they would be left the night before).

Exceptional

Exceptional from start to finish one of the best hotels I have stayed at

The hotel was perfect and everything was so relaxing. It is a small boutique type place and what a fantastic location. The staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble and the little touches like putting your bed down to sleep and a chocolate on your pillow ! The pool was so clean and relaxing and the guy who looked after it and the pool bar was so accommodating Staff at breakfast where always available and really appreciated your custom If you are looking for a romantic stay on the Amalfi coast this is the one

Really hard to find anything. The only caution I would give is that the hotel sits high up and has a staircase then a cable lift plus two more flights of stairs .

Very comical with inexperienced staff

Fantastic views!

The infestation of ants in the bedroom, bed, bathroom - the pool not opening until 10am and closing at 7pm. The pool bar (down a flight of stairs) was not manned, I had to go hunting for staff! 23 steps s to first lift, then 78 steps to reception, however, the bell boys were great with our luggage.

Hill too location with magnificent views overlooking the sea

The bathroom was tiny, dark and full of black mould. Lots of steps (75) so not disability friendly. Staff not professional. Pool closes at 7pm.

Beautiful hotel and location the town of Maiori is the best place to stay.

The view from the hotel was so beautiful and comfort of bed wonderful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the balcony was the most picturesque and relaxing. The pool to cool off fantastic and the option to have use of chairs on the beach and towels. Having a wonderful restaurant is a high light.

This place is so wonderful but totally unapproachable for anyone with mobility issues. There are so many stairs it is a pity that there is no way to get to your room without many many stairs. The pool is so wonderful but the hours of use are too short 10-7 in the hot days, the place could provide better service for those outdoors enjoying the wonderful hotel.

Exceptional

Best hotel we've ever stayed in

Booked this for our honeymoon and couldn't have chosen a better place. The view is absolutely stunning wherever you are and the staff is so attentive. It's so nice to chill by the pool and you get your own sunbed at the beach included too. Food was also excellent. Location is top, in walking distance to everything in Maiori.

A Most Unique, Great Value, Hidden Gem on the Coast

Breathtaking views, outstanding dining, wonderful service. Maiori is absolutely the best location on the Amalfi coast. A hidden gem. And, this is your castle on the cliff with views like no other! The charm of the village sounds, the shadows and lighting shifts over the cliffs all day long, the smells of botanical blooms and the sound of gentle waves lapping the shore can be heard from your balcony and your bed! Enjoy breakfast overlooking the water and dinner overlooking Minori. Great location, excellent staff, reasonable prices, wonderful food!

Our suite was so charming with a cute loft area for our college-aged kids and an amazing view. We were only there two nights as we were traveling the coast, but the air conditioning never worked in our unit. We made it, but were very warm at times.
