Perfect for visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia with your pup!

They accept dogs. We had everything we needed in our own cottage duplex with kitchenette. Very comfortable bed, good climate control.

Private cottage; spacious, clean, dog friendly - perfect stay

Spacious cottage with kitchen and bathroom. Recycling was offered. Never came into contact with any of the staff. Door was operated by a keypad for entry. Excellent location, very close to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. Super clean and warm. Dog friendly.

Took me a moment to figure out how to lock the door but otherwise zero complaints. Honestly this is an undervalued gem.

A beautiful retreat near Bar Harbor

This was the perfect stay during our tour of New England. We wanted to stay near Bar Harbor, and the location was close enough that we didn't feel inconvenienced when we went into town. We positively LOVED the room. It felt like a cabin! The room was very nicely updated, and it felt like everything was brand new. Sometimes the pictures for these places are misleading in that the room will feel "old", but in this case, I don't think the pictures did it justice. We were 2 weeks into a 3 week journey when we stayed here, and I got the most peaceful rest while we were there. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone travelling into the area. It feels like home!

Nothing. I wish we would have stayed at a warmer time of year so that we could take advantage of the outdoor amenities. We will keep that in mind if we come this way again.

Very cute place, nice layout. Parking few short steps away (easy to load and unload car).

The pricing (too high for a motel), seems typical for the area. The shower (took a while to get hot water and not enough pressure)

Located 10 minutes away from downtown Bar Harbor, this is the best place to stay at for a cozy & coastal home-away-from-home. At the time of booking, we didn't know what to expect because it was a 'motel'. But as soon as we drove in, saw the cute 'welcome sign' and entered the room, Hanscoms exceeded our expectations by a mile! With a large king-sized bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy coastal theme, and an open space for a community fire pit outside, you should stay here for your trip.

Check-in experience was only OK because the code provided to us didn't work for our room. Once we called the contact number, they gave us the proper code but promptly hung up before we could even say 'thank you'.

We would never stay there again.

The location was great and the room was clean.

What is most interesting is we never saw any staff. The rooms are very small (photos are deceiving). There was no place to hang anything - no hooks, no closet. No where to hang a wet towel. One shelf in the bathroom which was already filled with things. There was hardly room to open 2 suitcases - we had to rearrange the furniture to be able to do this.

This is my 3rd year staying at Hanscoms for a yearly event that takes place on MDI and Ive already booked year 4.

Contactless check-in with room code texted to your phone is so convenient. Comfortable bed with a small kitchenette and mini fridge. Located very close to Acadia park entrance as well as downtown Bar Harbor. Great water pressure though the stand up shower is a bit small.

Parking can be a bit tight but its not enough to sway me from staying here

Good wifi. Nice sized fridge. Quiet room Not much else.....

Small room with an uncomfortable bed. There are no keys, just a door code. Our code didn't work, and we had to call the manager at 8 PM to open the door. For this price, one would expect the room to be serviced

Simply Perfect

I love everything about Hansom's Motel & Cottages. This is my second time staying here and it was even better than the last time because we came up last fall. The room is perfect, clean, and smells amazing. The location is in the perfect spot because its close to everything we like. I wont stay anywhere else when I come up to Bar Harbor now.

I have nothing bad to say.
