Very good
Very good
The room itself was lovely and clean. Nice view onto the Botanic Gardens. Great location for the west end of Glasgow.
The bathroom needs updating, it was very shabby and not what I expected for a 200 per night room. The hotel restaurant Bovine is clearly having some staffing issues, service was awful at dinner as was the food......breakfast is also served in this restaurant, which was self service, the food was nice but had to wait a while for the buffet to be served up, more staffing issues clearly. For a 200 room and 350 dinner for 4 people in the restaurant (we only paid for the wine), all in, it was disappointing.

Good
The hotel and location ideal for a short stay, we only stayed one night.
The location
After checking in just after 3 oclock we wanted to relax and have a drink but the bar didnt open until after 4 oclock. The bar should have opened at 3 oclock. It only opened after I asked a member of staff. We had to wait about 10 minutes at breakfast for the egg and bacon trays to be replenished.

Good
Excellent West End location. Nice spacious room. Breakfast, not a picnic...
Spacious Room, mostly (very) friendly staff.
The breakfast was limited. Standard Scottish breakfast, which was good, particularly the haggis. But not a vegetable in sight. Nor any cold cuts. Or much else really. Top Tip: a sign attached to the door could request that breakfast goers proceed to the desk (which is hidden off to the side) to sign in before going to the buffet. Then guests wouldn't be shouted at like naughty schoolboys/girls as they proceed quite naturally to the buffet directly in front of them. Top, Top, Tip: It's not good for a member of the restaurant staff to have a 5 minute long shouting match with a customer within earshot of all the guests in a busy restaurant. Probably the situation could have been diffused a bit more effectively. The terrace and bar on the upper ground floor were closed for all 4 days/nights. A bit disappointing.

Good
Comfortable but not restful
Location and convenience. Staff were professional and accommodating.
Noise from corridor. External door to corridor did not muffle sounds from corridor. This does not seem like a major problem that could be addressed.

Bad
Awful service, bad hotel.
Location is good.
They made an error with my booking and charged me for two rooms. They maintained I had booked the second room, despite the manager acknowledging something seemed strange about how the booking appeared on their system. I was told he'd investigate and he'd call back. He didn't. The room itself was tired, water stains on ceiling. It was the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Really unpleasant.

Very average
Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, too hard by far which left us both with a back ache. There were also cobwebs and spiders on the ceiling so not very clean.

Great dog friendly stay in the west end for a good price!
We stayed because it was dog-friendly and in the west end but only the rooms are dog friendly so couldn't use the restaurant or bar - there are plenty of places nearby that accept dogs so it isn't really a problem.
