Excellent location - excellent staff

Excellent location. What makes this hotel is the amazing staff. So friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless and cleaned every day to a very high standard. Food was great and always served with a smile and a kind word. Particular mention for Naveen, the hotel driver. Polite, warm and a real gentleman. Thanks Fort Bazaar, Ill definitely stay again when I am next in Sri Lanka.

Disappointing

too much to name it all but as a summary, the service was appalling across most areas. In both the bar and restaurant orders were repeatedly wrong and took an eternity to arrive over several times. The hotel managers were more busy dealing with complaints from several guests than running the hotel. The hotel decided to change the internet password in the middle of the night, resulting in an early morning without wifi. When asked for beach towels they were provided but had a terrible musty smell.

Simply the best hotel in Galle.

Hotel was beautiful, stylishly furnished, and wonderfully rennovated heritage building. Cannot fault this hotel. The staff were exceptional - felt like a family. The food was exquisite. Rate included breakfast, afternoon tea, and happy hour drinks which was a pleasant surprise and just delicious. This hotel has been done brilliantly and will definitely look to stay in more of the group hotels in future.

Can't find any fault with the hotel. It was incredible. Only issue was booking.com being hacked and sending bogus phishing requests for payments for which I still have yet to receive a response or apology for this data breach. Book direct with the hotel - they are FABULOUS.

Superb

Good, comfortable, clean hotel with helpful, friendly staff.

Lovely, well modernised, contemporary hotel but which still retained its Dutch merchants house roots. Polite helpful staff, excellent rooms.

Dining room lacks some atmosphere- more of a place to eat than to dine. Lose the table in the middle of the dining room and replace with a pedestal with a huge bunch of flowers - that would be a good start.

Great location in Galle with great decor and a calming feel. The food and cocktails were superb and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We would have loved to stay for one more evening!

Truly memorable stay.

The team are welcoming , attentive , and engaging. Nothing is too much trouble. Location is fantastic and the food is the best we have had in Sri Lanka. They happy hour is also wonderful.

Overpriced and sleepless

Dinner ok

The hotel has zero sound insulation - it felt like we were sleeping on the street For the amount of money they charge - its way overpriced. I wouldnt stay here again or advise anyone to stay here
