Guests had a positive experience at the Cumberland Hotel, with some rooms recently renovated and others clean and serviceable. The food and service were of good standard, with friendly and helpful st (Read More)aff. The hotel is in a pleasant environment and dog friendly, with a great bar and location. The afternoon tea had warm scones and delicious coffee, while the Sunday lunch was highlighted as very good value. Staff professionalism and excellent quality of food and drinks were also noted.

They kicked me out of the hotel in the middle of the night I had to pay to get a Uber of 160 pound back to London they made me feel very uncomfortable

Nice stay but the lounge seating & beds let it down

The lounge seating was really bad everyone was sitting on cushions as so uncomfortable or on a dining chair Needs to be refurbished Also beds very uncomfortable

Had a great time overall :)

Location was great, my little girl loved the swimming pool. Lobby and facilities were good.

Staff were very 50/50. Some were great and others were very off. Only one lift with a limit of 3 people also meant we had to use the stairs a few times.

Overall it was a lovely hotel with fantastic location and good facilities

The staff, location, cleanliness and facilities were all very good

The radiator in my room wasnt working, I reported this to the staff on reception and was told to use the air conditioner unit on warm. In the room it states not to do this, but I was told it would be ok due to it being December and very cold. I tried the air conditioning but it broke so the room wasnt warm at all

Staff were excellent. It was a night of multiple Christmas events and very busy, however, the staff remained efficient and attentive. When we asked for more water they didn't forget, when I asked for a tray to carry drinks the bartender brought the drinks out for me. I also saw the staff moving to the music too, which was lovely to see, why should they not get some enjoyment as they work. Unfortunately the DJ did not get to play requests, such a shame. The breakfast selection was good, staff attentive, when food ran out on the breakfast buffet it was quickly replaced, no long waits. The room was clean and comfortable, many of the TV channels were unavailable, but as I was not there to watch TV this was not a problem. The walk to the town centre was about 15 minutes. All in all a good experience, I would recommend this hotel gladly.

Personally I would have liked more milk in the room, the amount of tea and coffee was not commensurate with the milk provided, but that's just me, I don't like strong drinks and maybe I should have asked for more. Not really a problem. I was glad there was no additional noise, as I had an interconnecting door in my room that I was not warned about, however it turned out not to be a problem. The lift is small so be patient, or get some exercise taking the stairs as I often did.

From our experience at the Cumberland Hotel in Bournemouth, I can highly recommend a stay there.

The hotel room was superb with stunning views from the balcony. The room was very warm, clean and comfortable. The room cleaning staff were fabulous and they refreshed the beds and room every day to a very high standard. The Vantana restaurant was excellent and we had some incredibly tasty meals there. We visited both Westcliffe beach and Boscombe beach and they were both wonderful! Clean and well looked after. The bacon baps we had from the beach side diner at Boscombe were very tasty, but look out for the long slither bones in the bacon! The Oceanarium was excellent! So much bigger inside than you would imagine looking at the building from the outside. With a good variety of marine life which are displayed in such an interesting way. Loved it in there. The Oceanarium gift shop was wonderful with so many interesting gifts.

The biggest issue we had was the noise from the family that stayed in the room above us. They only moved in on our second night there. Until then our room had been blissfully perfect! The children were jumping off furniture, screaming and running up and down, in and out of the rooms, constantly thumping on the floor with their feet. It sounded like the ceiling was coming in, literally! This went on until late at night. It was very annoying and disturbing. There was also an area of floorboards in the room above that creaked unbelievably loudly whenever anyone walked on them. It was quite frankly intolerable. I really think putting families with young children in the rooms above people who want peace and quiet should be reconsidered by management at the Cumberland. Another issue was the locks on the room doors, which made an incredibly loud noise when closing. Obviously this disturbed our sleep when guests came back to their rooms late at night.
