We paid 269.00 for our New Years Eve stay - we have stayed here before with no problems .

Breakfast good - I ordered more toast as I didnt eat much of my breakfast (preferential) but it never arrived .

On arrival - bathroom very tired - see pictures Chrome on bottom of Bath screen was grimy along with the glass - there was paint missing from the bottom of the front panel - on the whole it felt dirty . We had no TV - the screen said no signal - reported this to front desk , who said the wire was probably wobbly - we had checked this , and it wasnt . He then said he would send someone to fix the problem whilst were went out for dinner . We had intended on dining in your restaurant, but was told on our arrival there would be no food after 5pm , as the hotel was hosting a New Years Eve Party - it was now approx. 4.40pm , so we were forced to eat out - it would have been nice to have been told this at the time of booking - had we known this , we wouldnt have booked . On our return we sat in the front bar - us being the only ones - which was fine , but very quiet , leaving no option but to witness the bar staff use foul language - the F word on several occasions whilst frantically trying to organise drinks and coffee for the New Years Eve party , oblivious to us , as paying guests in the same Bar. We then went to our room to see the New Year in, only to find the TV had been attacked - a new lead had been fitted - but still had no signal - therefore no TV to see in the New Year - really sad and disappointing. Great location in town - convenient for the cathedral Our first stay with aBode for a special family Christmas County Restaurant was excellent - breakfasts cooked to order was great the staff were very good helpful and pleasant May well come back to you

Unfortunately not great sleep and disappointment on the condition of the room and bathroom

Was very central in location

Room and bathroom was tired needs updating and painting. Didnt appreciate how loud street noise was on the friday night loud music and people sitting and socialising opposite on steps of museum. When booked through booking.com was expecting more from room as abode described it as a superior room not sure what made it a superior room.

Superb

Perfect location for a very enjoyable stay in Canterbury

The suite we were allocated was very comfortable, spacious and quiet and gave a superb view of the Cathedral.

We found the breakfast service a bit formal and would have preferred a buffet which we feel is more practical and possibly less wasteful? Having said that the service was impeccable

Service was poor, breakfast order came out wrong. Had to keep asking for our toast as the waiter forgot to bring

Overall service was poor. Was asked to wait in the bar while they checked to see if our room was ready, then the employee started to talk to someone else and forgot about us. At check in a guest next to me stated theyd had en email giving them a free upgrade, they were upgraded to the same room I had, when I asked why I was paying more for the same room next to me I was told its because he booked direct with the hotel was being treated as special but because I booked through booking.com I was being treated differently
