Superb

Delightful short stay in San Francisco

We really liked the style and character of the hotel generally and the room. The location is excellent for Nob Hill, Union Square and the cable car and a healthy walk through china town, to North Beach and the bayside. Staff were very accommodating and welcoming. Great value for the location.

A bit of street noise, I had to wear ear plugs. Dining area at breakfast could be a bit busy and ran out of things like cutlery, cups and coffee.

Great stay in a comfortable hotel

Petite Auberge is a very comfortable hotel in a good location in SF - walking distance to all major tourist destinations. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided helpful information on how to get about the city. My room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good.

Good location and nice receptionist.

Theres no heating system, only a gas fireplace. In winter its not warm enough and too bright in the night to provide a good sleeping environment.

Nice, cozy stay in a classic B&B

The service was excellent! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even upgraded us to a room with a fireplace, which was so nice and cozy! Besides the staff the location was also excellent and the rooms were a good size. Wed definitely stay again if we ever return to the city in the future.

Its an old property, so the elevator and rooms are dated. Some things could be upgraded to make it more comfortable, but I think its timelessness is part of the charm. The other thing is that all of the amenities and services like breakfast and happy hour were offered in the sister property, White Swan. Wed probably just stay there next time to make it easier.

Romantic, classic SF hotel close to lots of fun things to do.

Such a romantic and sweet classic SF hotel. We loved the fireplace and the service was wonderful. For a noisy part of town, we found our room on the fourth floor to be pleasantly quiet.

Cute and cozy, felt very homey.

Nice amenities and very helpful and friendly staff. Loved the fireplace!

Could be hard to get the sleep you need there. Depends on the person. Some noise at night from the doors that do not shut quietly. Minimal but potentially an issue. No city or street noise to worry about it, however.

Didn't hate it, have a high tolerance and was admittedly trying to keep costs down.

Good breakfast buffet

My room was on the lobby floor, first room past a VERY old noisy elevator, and room doors are not updated to be soundproof. I told staff that due to the proximity of this room and level of noise (lobby, hallway chatter, and elevator), it should be turned into a linen storage closet. Not given to guests. Sadly I made last minute reservation, so no other rooms available. Slept OK with earplugs.
