It's just good, not perfect

Great location, the building and the hotel has a history, amazing restaurants nearby, free coffee and water for guests. Good wifi connection for work. Great quality of supplies of shampoo, bodywash and lotion.

Old-fashioned design and not new furniture across the hotel, lobby smell wasn't good (like in old museum), consider that they take additional deposit from you when you come (+400$) and need a psychic card to pay for staying so I'm unable to use a corporate card in my Booking.com account. By default, a bed is queen size, not king one.

It looked beautiful in the lobby The front desk person for our initial check in was very pleasant.

I was asked if I wanted room cleaning upon check-in and said yes, yet I had to ask 2 times a day for it to be done.

Poor front desk staff , I had to call three times to order more towels Secondly, I wanted to get my room cleaned. I told the front desk both days for room service, and no body came to clean the room.

lovely old hotel badly in need of some refurbishing of basic electricals and plumbing

A lovely old hotel, very much in the 'old school/old fashioned' way. If that's your thing, this is a wonderful choice.

Our first room had a plumbing issue. We didn't get any hot water, at all. We had to move rooms. The 2nd room, lovely and spacious as it was, had an air conditioning problem throughout our stay. And the plug/electrical point for the Nespresso/coffee machine didn't work either so we had to unplug the TV and use this to heat water...for this we had to move the coffee machine onto the carpet/floor next to the tv. It's a lovely hotel in need of some refurbishing of facilities and amenities like plumbing and electricity which just seems old.
