Found the bathroom a bit small but overall would recommend to others and we'll definitely stay there again.

Pleasant stay in a beautiful location.

The welcome I received from Jo was lovely, and the pub seemed very pleasant. It was bright and friendly, very clean. The bed was very comfortable too.

I feel the attention to detail in some areas maybe could be improved. There were some broken bits in my shower, and the body wash was soap - but my soap dispenser over the sink was empty. Just a tiny bit run-down. But it was 55, so I'm overall happy.

Superb

A pleasant stay made all the better by great staff and a super comfy bed!

The building is a fantastic 'pub with rooms' and it seems to be a real hub for the local community. The room was up in the roof but spacious and the bed was super comfy. USB sockets with the power sockets was a useful bonus. The food was real tasty pub grub - I had scampi and chips the first night and beef bourguignon the second, both delicious. Large beer and wine selection, and the place was buzzing both the nights I was there - but my room was two floors up and the sound did not travel, so two peaceful nights. But best of all was the staff, so friendly, cheery and helpful! They really made the place and I suspect that's why the pub is so popular. I'll be back!

I am fully abled, but I didn't see any lifts and the stairs are quite steep, as befits a vintage pub building of this sort. That's just the way it is.

Staff were lovely and the room was ok, just a little tired. Pub was nice and they catered very well for dogs with little treats and water etc. The breakfast was tasty and good value, setting us up for the day. Our dog loved the sausage.

On arriving at the pub, we were advised that there was no wi-fi at present. We went to the room and ran the tap for some drinking water for our dog and the cold tap was running very warm. Went downstairs to advise them, to be told that the water pressure couldn't always cope if too many people using at one time. The first morning, hubby was nearly scalded by the boiling water coming out the shower. On the last night, there was no heating on in the room, radiators were cold. The pub could only accept cash whilst we were there, as there were problems with the tills. As mentioned previously, the room was tired and needed a refresh. The windows didn't close properly. Mattress wasn't very comfy either. The shower was very small and in the eaves of the roof, it was hard to bend and wash your feet. The room could also do with either a chest of drawers or bedside cabinets with drawers, as there was no drawers at all to store items of clothing. Could also do with another chair in the room, as my back was very sore, having to sit on the bed.

Excellent value for money with friendly and helpful staff

Although the kitchen had closed by the time I arrived, the receptionist stepped in and prepared a dinner course from what she could do on the menu.

The hot water supply was warm rather than hot in the room for my liking but good enough to shower.

Great pub atmosphere, food was great and staff are brilliant, very friendly. It was our 43rd wedding anniversary whilst there. Booked a table for dinner and came down to decorated table with card, balloon, flowers and prosecco such a lovely surprise. Will be going back.

Nothing. All was better than we expected.
