    The staff were helpful and pleasant. The fragrance from the bedding was beautiful. Lovely, warm room. Fab breakfast. Nicely decorated for Christmas.

    On a cold and wet evening, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room is large, warm and has a very comfortable bed. Great shower. There is plenty of tea/coffee and delicious biscuits. Fabulous cooked breakfast.

    Avoid the Annex
    They put us in an annex, next to night shift workers. The shift workers distributed our sleep in the middle of the night. They went to work and made so much noise we woke up in the very early hours.. We had asked to change rooms and the night shift porter refused. He stated there was no heating on in the main building, which was not true. He refused to allow us to change rooms. Booking.com do not make it clear when booking a room at this hotel, that the King category rooms are in a dismal annex. They knowingly put normal guests in with long term guests who are night shift contractors. Theymake a lot of noise when entering or leaving in the night. We had a terrible night's sleep. Well avoid in the future.

    We would definitely stay again.
    The card entry was great meaning we could come back at any time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was lovely and tasty.
    It is a beautiful building and well maintained although the stair carpet could do with a clean.

    Basic somewhere to sleep.
    Breakfast was ok. Dining room adequate. Kitchen away from dining room down the hall past reception. Meals were carried this route.
    Very dated. Needs complete renovation.
