Disappointing

If the place was bigger, more private, and had a fridge, it would be closer to being the right value

I expect that most people who stay here only do so for 1 or 2 nights. If you just want to stay for a short time to visit the area, I am sure this place would be fine for a single person or couple. The bed is super comfy and the shower is very nice. The detractions below most likely wouldn't apply or wouldn't matter so much.

There was a microwave but no fridge, which really narrowed the range of food we could take in. The room was very small. For those travelling light this wouldn't matter, but we had 2 suitcases and there wasn't really anywhere to put them. There was also a lack of privacy and quiet, since the room was only separated from the rest of the family house by a (permanently locked) door that allowed for the sounds of yelling, children shrieking etc. It also made us worry about the noise we might have been generating. There was also the faint odor of smoke coming from somewhere, whether from the main house or a neighbour, which was quite off-putting. Lastly, to reach the room meant trudging across a wet, muddy lawn with no path. This wouldn't matter in summer but in winter it felt a bit crappy. Overall, it felt like someone's spare room, and not like a professional rental.
