Wonderful stay at La Chartreuse

We really enjoyed our stay in La Chartreuse. The room was spotlessly clean. The location was great, with the tram and bus only around the corner. Pierre, our host, was very pleasant and hospitable. The breakfast was also delicious.

Fantastic small Hotel!

My wife and her friend stayed in the hotel and this is her recommendation: Absolutely gorgeous small hotel in a very quiet neighborhood, that is well connected to the center. We loved the room, the Marie Brizard Suite. A perfect room for two friends because it has two very comfortable double beds in a loft style set up. One bed is upstairs in a lovely loft that overlooks the main room where the other bed is located. The bathroom is off the hallway. The room has its own separate entrance and so it feels very private. It also has a small beautiful balcony that looks over the principle courtyard of the hotel. The decoration and room decor is top notch. I personally loved the lightening and the tasteful wallpaper and artwork. It is so quiet at night, it was unbelievable. The breakfast is simple yet delicious and the host at breakfast, a friend of Pierre's, was accommodating and very friendly. I plan to stay at La Chartreuse again when I return to Bordeaux with my husband. An overall splendid experience. Highly recommended!

A hidden gem!

Perfect location, a short 10min walk to the central areas and an even quicker ride using the electric scooters that are readily available across the city! (my favourite form of transport). Most beautiful French charm, exactly what you would want as a tourist in Bordeaux. Pierre, our host, was so informative and responsive from the start of booking to the very end of our departure. A great host! Absolutely loved how clean and looked after everything was - a huge standout for me. Don't think I would stay anywhere else in future, can't wait to go back. Exceptional value for money.

Perfect location for touring Bordeaux

We had a 2-bedroom (loft style) room upstairs equipped with A/C, a shower/bathroom and separate toilet area, mini-fridge, coffee/tea and a private terrace. Breakfast was lovely-fresh bread, croissants, yogurt, cheese and meat. Pierre couldnt have been nicer. The bus stop was at the end of the street and the tram only a block further. But we were able to walk to the city center quite quickly as well. Did I mention how thrilled we were to have A/C??

A hidden gem

I booked La Chartreuse last minute, and how lucky was I to come across this hidden gem . The location is brilliant being beside the tram and bus stop, which brings you right into the centre, la gare and airport. The place is spotless, and your host Pierre sends a welcome pack via email so you know exactly what to expect. The interior is modern French chic, breakfast is basic, but enough. If I ever have the pleasure of going back to Bordeaux I will 100% stay here.
