River Hotel

I think this property need to review their approach to customer service in general. It was not a cheap hotel. For two nights that was a cost of over 350 all told. Having said that on the second night I was due to leave early around 7.30 am. and I had paid for breakfast but had said that could I have a packed lunch instead and I had a word with them on the night before and the so called manager told me that I was taking 'too many bananas'. Two nighst 360 pounds over priced in the extreme. They charged me eighteen pounds for the priviledge for breakfast which I didn't even have, so I left it there. The manager is money grabbing I feel. Money grabbing I would say this, that is unsavoury to say the least. The area is lovely but she had said out loud that she is not willing to support even local shops or hairdressers which to be honest in today's environment made me ill with the cost of living crisis. They are in it quite clearly for the money and nothing else. The hotel is advertised as having 24 7 reception services but they don't at all. They give you a key code to use out back. The reception service is not available after 2.pm so you can forget that one. My reply to review My review is not 'muddled'. It is my experience of my stay here. You should have refunded the breakfast costs anyway, without the review. You did not do so. There is no evidence of you supporting local businesses, rather the opposite of you having disdain for them as the 'manager' indicated.
