Moxy Austin - University is a cool and affordable hotel. The staff is helpful and the bar and food are great. The hotel has a good gym and a nice outdoor area. Some guests mention that the hotel has (Read More)a student dormitory atmosphere, as it is located on the UT Austin campus. The rooms are cute and minimal, but parking is limited and the neighborhood is a bit seedy. One reviewer had an amazing experience thanks to the incredible service from Ashley at Moxy.

Good

The lobby was beautiful with a very nice backyard as well. The gym was also nice.

My room was on the ground floor. There was an electronic device on the room (like a clock/alarm) that made a lot of noise during one night. Thankfully they moved us to the 4th floor on a more spacious room. The rooms outdoor made quite some noise on closing.

Good vibes in a great hotel

Great vibe in the hotel and also good area to be in. The staff was very friendly and the bar served some great drinks. The room was also quite nice and felt modern.

A minor complaint only, but in my opinion check in time is quite late and they stick to it or ask for a early check in fee - at least in my case.

Very happy with the customer service and care I received during my stay while I caring for an ill child

Likes: excellent location to UT-Austin, clean comfortable room, close to shoppes & eateries, love Zombie Taco eatery, free drink upon arrival, beautifully decorated for Christmas, friendly workers, helpful staff, warm & caring managers who took time to make sure I was happy & satisfied. Thank you for caring!!!

Water pressure in sink & shower too low Bar tenders were MIA for the majority of my stay - but I was helped by the front desk staff who made sure I was able to get ice & beverages for my daughter who was very ill.

Very bad attitude from front desk, turned around by wonderful manager.

I appreciated the close location to UT. My room was clean, bed was comfortable, free drink from bar was delicious. I enjoyed sitting outside the fire pit.

Shower water pressure too low. Im a plumbers daughter: youre not saving any water when I have to stand under the shower 4x longer just to rinse off. Front desk girl was ignorant and rude - said she was going to charge me an extra $15 because I was 15 minutes late leaving my room on checkout day! I had paid for 3 extra hours for late departure but was 15 minutes late in actually leaving the room - they called my room to basically say skidaddle. I had to talk with one of the managers to resolve the problem. Thankfully she was extremely nice and very professional about the situation and resolved it to my satisfaction. Im grateful for her understanding and willingness to think of yourself as a customer.

Lackluster performance by front desk. Hotel lacks hospitality.

I enjoyed the convenience of location to UT. Hotel was clean, bed was comfortable, price was reasonable.

Front desk not very attentive or helpful. No warm welcome and seemed lazy. Couldnt use my free drink poker chip as bartender was MIA both times I came downstairs to get a drink. No one staffed the bar that day between 4-5:30pm. Was told he was in the bathroom. Apparently no one else at front desk knows how to use the bar supplies.
