Lovely room with a splendid view of the bay and Mull and a chance to learn about local wildlife.

Lovely room with a splendid view of the bay and Mull. Excellent service, we had a tour of local wildlife, with the very knowledgeable owner of the hotel and we were able to see red squirrels and otters without causing them any distress or even noticing us at all. There are various options for cooked breakfast (many local meats options, but sorry we are vegetarians and we cannot vouch for them) we especially liked the winter berries compote to mix with muesli and yoghurt, the excellent coffee and baked goods. We had pizza in the evening and there is also a gluten-free option and excellent wine.

...the weather was not great on our second day, but it was January so, not unexpected, we enjoyed painting the ever-changing landscape from our room.

Getway to a feast of beauty and wildlife

The hotel is small and in a beautiful location. There is a lovely friendly touch. The pizzas are amazing and they have a lovely selection of pies. This is a place to get away from it all and be surrounded by wildlife. Pete one of the owners knows all about wildlife and where to find it nearby. I would recommend booking time with him if he has space whether you just want to see wildlife or take pictures. He is a great photographer and teacher and genuinely interested in making your time with them special. We will be back

Lovely family run hotel using local produce with stunning views

Spotless room with lovely view, had an amazing bath and wonderful local toiletries - that was something that is nice - Lochaline uses local produce. The hair dryer in my room looked like it may take 3 business days to dry my hair because it was small but I was actually delighted with how powerful it was! Shaley, Peter and extended Family could not have done more to make me feel welcome.

There were no towels in my room which was an wee oversight and it was fixed immediately by Shaley - the towels were so soft and felt lovely and luxurious. Hallway light is left on all night - maybe that should go on a timer or sensor.

We loved the warm welcome, the stunning view at breakfast and great choice of food; the fact we could request an evening meal (and the pizza was fab!), the comfy, cosy, well equipped bedroom; excellent helpful pre-arrival information. A great stay, thank you!

Last minute stay, but the view and the sunrise was spectacular

The location of this property is amazing, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The people that run the hotel are fabulous. Our booking was last minute due to the ferries (Oban and Lochaline) being cancelled. So after our arduos journey this hotel was our wonderful haven.

Overall great

The location was fantastic as was the home cooking. The spicy meat pizza was outstanding . And Netflix on the big TV. Brilliant.

No matter how good everything else was, I just cant cop having to exit the room to use the bathroom facilities.

We had a great stay at Lochaline Hotel. The owners were an absolute delight and made us feel really welcome. We had delicious homemade pizzas for dinner and a gorgeous bottle of Italian red. Our room was modern, clean and comfortable with a beautiful view over the Sound of Mull. Breakfast was also great with lots of homemade touches like fruit coulis and banana bread. Hope we can visit again for longer. Can't recommend highly enough.

Remote and quiet, away from hustle and bustle. Right on the sound and right next to the ferry to take us over to Mull. Owners are SO NICE and accommodating, really enjoyed talking to them. Room overlooked the sound and the bed was SUPER comfortable.
