A hidden gem

Lovely and peaceful great location very quaint cosy ,the staff I did meet were so helpful . comfy room great size bathroom

This being constructive criticism,was alarmed by the 2bottles on my bedside table with glasses on not at all knowing what it was or labelled,and what was a lovely touch cake had it not been rock hard and not knowing how long it had been there if I had been a child or someone with issues drinking something which we had no idea what it was was worrying.also not a great lover of the coffee machine but that a personal choice water was in it again I had no idea how long that water had been in it, when asked if they had a spare kettle I was asked did I know how to use the coffee machine to get hot water out of.they kindly filled my flask with hot water .these comments to not reflect the facts a really special place.

The bar and open fireplaces were very welcoming. Breakfast was tasty. River outside added to atmosphere of calm.

The water container in the coffee machine in the room had dirt/mold on the rim. Carpets need to be cleaned- quite dusty in places.

Superb

A very warm welcome after a somewhat stressful journey. Highly recommended.

Very quirky venue with excellent staff and food. Dinner menu was very diverse with excellent food to suit anyones taste. Breakfast was extremely tasty. Loved the fact that the eggs were from the island chickens. Room was a little small but adequate and very clean. Loved the extras.

A charming building in a lovely location, not the most comfortable stay but has the potential to be a lovely B&B.

The location was excellent. The food in the restaurant was very good, and good value. The pub downstairs is cosy and the landlord friendly. Although the property is single glazed, the heating in the room wasnt set or locked so it was adjustable and effective. A welcome cheese dish in the room was a nice touch.

The bed was very uncomfortable, in dire need of a new mattress, or even a foam topper in interim. On our last night, on filling the water container in the back of the coffee machine, I found it had mouldy/fungal marks around the water line. A quick clean of this between guests wouldnt go amiss. The shower head in our bathroom was so blocked it barely ran - my husband actually cleaned it himself. The bathroom suite could do with a bit of an overhaul, despite being essentially functional. Little things like the curtains not hanging properly (missing hooks on each curtain) are cheap and easy fixes, and would make a better impression to guests regarding upkeep of the room.

Charming dog-friendly hotel in idyllic setting.

Super dog-friendly hotel in lovely location. Our dog especially enjoyed his breakfast sausage! Peaceful sound of the river outside our bedroom. Staff were very nice, both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Room was cosy and nicely decorated. Definitely want to come back.

Nothing major. Could have done with a reading lamp and bathroom needed some maintenance (shower leaking & shabby toilet seat).

Good local pub.

Standard British pub in a lovely setting. Food was good with the lunch alternative in the park outside. Room was OK if a bit unlevel (standard for any old British pub) with older style furnishings, tight en suite bathroom but adequate.

Old pub so room wasn't level but I guess that gave it some character. Twin room, one bed was fine but one bed was not comfy.
